Seeing Michigan bow to Texas makes me sick. So I wanted to remind everybody how great it was when we put Texas in their place in back-to-back years.

Here are the links to both awesome games:

2015:

2016:

These are 2 of my favorite OOC games ever !!

Go Bears !! (and show Auburn who rules ....)

Someday, Cal will have a Sonny Dykes-caliber coach again. Someday.

I credit myself with the win because somebody must've shown this to Wilcox.

While satisfying (or sad, depending on who you are), those were some terrible Texas teams...

You guys had big expectations when we beat you. Especially in 2016, you had beaten #10 Notre Dame and blown out UTEP coming into Cal's Memorial Stadium ranked #11. Losing to Cal both years put Texas under .500 and is part of why they are remembered as "bad Texas teams."

The bigger point is you have to beat the top programs when they are down. FSU is terrible this year, but we only managed 9 points in 6 red zone trips. We should have beaten Auburn last year too, and Notre Dame the year before. And USC every year they were bad.

2015: we finished 5-7
2016: we finished 5-7, including a loss to Kansas (hadn't happened in forever) - Charlie Strong rightfully fired after the season

These are probably the 2 worst teams Texas had fielded since the mid-90s... doesn't matter whether we had high hopes or not, we were as awful as any team I'd seen

So again - while I'm sure it was satisfying, we were terrible in the Charlie Strong era, and only marginally better under Tom Herman

Yeah, Cal was dominant in that era: 5-7 in 2016.

I'm sure no one was fired in 2016 at Cal... Was there?

I never said you guys were good then. I was just saying we were terrible. So 1 bad team beat another bad team?

I think this loss is important because Texas fans come back 10 days later trying to explain how it's not so bad...

This loss living rent free in your brain.

It's Cal beating Texas. Polish it with whatever you want.

This sweep was Dykes' biggest accomplishment at Cal.
