If you're a live football game junkie, next Saturday will be epic in the Bay Area. Game Day from 6-9 AM, Virginia Tech at Stanford at 12:30, Nevada at San Jose State at 4:30 and then Miami at Cal at 7:30! Ignoring Game Day, I suspect it's been quite a long time since all 3 Bay Area universities had home games on the same day.sycasey said:
This decision makes the placement of Miami-Cal in the late 7:30 PT window even more curious. If they had the game on a shortlist for GameDay, I would have expected them to keep it as an option for the 4:30 ABC window, but they just put it at 7:30 two weeks ago and left Clemson-FSU as the ACC flex option at 4/4:30.
And no, ESPN didn't need Cal to fill the late window. They could have also put ASU there.

If all 3 were on ESPN or acc network, the crew could helicopter from one to the next and make a big deal about it all. Would be cool.

VT @ Stanford is on ACCN and of course Miami @ Cal is on ESPN.
An opportunity to feature Cal of course, but also get in some element of both Bay Area teams hosting new ACC conference rivals on the same day.
Any publicity is good publicity as far as the Bay Area being a P4 football area.

He was in Blacksburg in 07 in the am and made it out to call our game against tenn at 5pm with Musberger so my guess is yes he will fly to Arkansas

Hey Cal Admin - you see how football markets your university? It's almost like having a football team will improve the stature of our university instead of detract from it. The entire US will be watching and we better put our best foot forward. Clean up that campus!
Oakland to Fayetteville is a 4-hour flight plus the 2-hour time difference means he would need at least 6+ hours ahead of time to make kickoff and Arkansas-Tennessee kicks off at 6:30PM Central (4:30PM Pacific) so he would have to haul ass out of Berkeley or leave GameDay early for that to workCNHTH said:He was in Blacksburg in 07 in the am and made it out to call our game against tenn at 5pm with Musberger so my guess is yes he will fly to Arkansascalbear289 said:

I remember getting off the bus when we played there only to see a chess match breaking out at what one would perceive to be a tailgate. We would later go on to lose. I’ve never recovered.

Show ends at approx 9am Pacific, 11am Central - approx 7.5 hours prior to kickoff at 630pm Central.
I am guessing traveling on tight schedules is a well oiled process for him by now.
Will help that at 9am on Saturday, traffic will be pretty light from Berkeley to Oakland.
Given its a private plane, he could be wheels up by 10am if he left the set at 9am to head to his waiting, nearby car and driver.
