Moody on Lions secret payroll? He is a parking lot termination …or a portable tarmac firing.

Purdy reminds me a bit of Derek Carr.

He can kiss his big bank extension bye bye.

Not a chance in hell of that happening. His 2 interceptions tonight were bad. Otherwise he had a near perfect night.

Like Carr's INTs after having a huge yardage and multi TD game….they were bad enough to lose the game. Niners can't be dumb enough to give him more than 2/3 of the Max deal he wants…and even at that he is overpaid like Carr is.

The way this season has gone, the market is probably cooling on Purdy. He can only demand a max deal if someone is willing to pay it.

This game was lost by Jake Moody. In spite of Purdy's 2 interceptions, Moody's 2 missed field goals and one missed PAT cost the Niners 7 points in a 6 point loss. Moody needs to be cut ASAP. He is a wasted 3rd round pick.

By advanced metrics, SF's offensive and defensive efficiency are both good. Special teams is bottom of the barrel.

Exactly. Shanahan seems to follow the same book as Wilcox regarding special teams.

Really hoping Goff continues the historic rampage he's on and that the Lions win the SB. But due to their injuries, I don't see the SB happening which is a huge bummer.

Right now, I think Minnesota is a better team, not to mention KC and a few others. Hopefully Detroit finds a way to get healthy or solve the defensive issues.

Trade him to Dallas, with several first round picks, for Tre Lance?

The bad news is that the Lions will have to score 40+ to win their games from now on.

The good news is that they can.

I hope you're right, but I question that in the playoffs.

Yes - Goff's college education uniquely prepared him for his current reality. Professor Dykes was ahead of his time.

I went to the Monday Night game. It was just my fourth NFL game and my third time seeing the 49ers play at Levi's, and the first night game. The official attendance was 71.6K, above capacity (because they sell standing room only tickets as well), but there were empty seats scattered everywhere. Obviously a lot of season ticket holders didn't show up because the game was meaningless. But every section still looked pretty good. And the atmosphere was electric. We can only dream of a Miami-like turnout at Memorial for a Game 12 where we are 4-7 and already eliminated from bowl eligibility.

In 2018 I went to Levi's to watch Goff and the Rams kick 49er ass, and they did. It turns out that was a rare thing. I just learned before Monday that Goff was just 3-7 against the 49ers (3-5 with the Rams, 0-2 with the Lions) before this game. This time I went to watch Goff and the Lions kick ass, and got a great game.

There were a ton of Lions fans in the lower east side bowl. I was on the west side in the narrow second deck below the wall of luxury boxes. There were a few Lions fans in my section but not a lot. When the "Ja-red Goff!" chant started up, I joined right in. You can hear, the 49ers fans started making noise to counteract the chant. It didn't work in the lower bowl, but where I was sitting I was drowned out. But that just made me chant louder!

I can't tell you how much fun it was to watch in person the Lions offense work their magic. I was near the north end zone and it was amazing to witness the hook-and-lateral in person. I was screaming as loud as I could "You can't stop the Lions!" It was even sweeter to be surrounded by 49er fans, who were pretty fired up in the first half, only to be let down in the second half by missed FGs, INTs, and an unstoppable Lions offense.

So I saw Goff and the Rams in 2018, the year that they went to the Super Bowl, and I saw Goff and the Lions in 2024, and I'm hoping to say that I saw them in the year that they went to their first Super Bowl. FYI, the first time I saw the 49ers in person was at Candlestick in 1981, the year of their first Super Bowl. So I am hoping to demonstrate that I am good karma for NFL teams.

"Ja-red Goff!"

Great post. The first time I saw the Niners was in the mid 1960's when I was a boy and my Dad took me to Kezar to see the Green Bay Packers (Coach Lombardi, Paul Hornung, Ray Nitschke, Bart Starr, Herb Adderley, Willie Davis, Jim Taylor and Willie Wood). The 2nd time I saw the Niners was when they played the Cleveland Browns led by Jim Brown and coached by Paul Brown.

4.3 40 time really jumps out at you during a game. That TD run was incredible.

I think Goff kinda set Gibbs up for that vicious hit he took after catching the ball. He won't shake than one off that easily.

So much for my prediction there would be 700+ yards of total offense in this game.

Outstanding red zone D by Detroit, Vikings with only 9 points after 3 quarters and 250 yards of offense.

Gibbs 2nd running TD where the defense looks like they are being filmed at a different speed than he is.

*It appears Collinsworth is finally bowing before the Altar of Goff.

*I guess it's a long shot Gibbs gets a game ball, eh?

Statement win by the Lions, Vikings are a top 3 team in the NFL and their toughest challenger in the NFC.

If they can get some bodies back on defense in the next few weeks, they have got to be favored to win it all.

OK Goff had a rough game with 2 INTs. The running game saved the day.

But he was still 27/33 for an 82% completion rate and a TD.
