Yes he played well, one pick was from a tipped ball at the LOS, the other was a 50 yard bomb from the endzone that was the equivalent of a very good punt.

Vikings are likely to beat the Rams and set up a rematch at Ford Field in two weeks.

Likely final 4 is Lions-Eagles/Chiefs-Bills

Hope the Lions can make it happen this year. Long-suffering fanbase and Jared Goff at QB. Let's go!

Not necessarily, since the NFL re-seeds the second round. If Washington or Green Bay wins then they would travel to Detroit as the lowest remaining seed. I would put Washington as a favorite over Tampa.

Love that Campbell said to O'Connell, "See you in a couple weeks!" when they met at midfield after the game.

I watched the whole game. I got up a couple times to switch the laundry, grab a snack and use the bathroom. I had no idea Goff threw two picks. lol. Must have been perfect timing. He was nearly perfect otherwise. What a great game.

My first big sports bar visit in many years (Legends Long Beach) and on the big screen. What a thrill. Here in So Cal the Lions haven't caught on (yet) as I was disappointed in the fans for either side. Many probably tired and bored from the days previous games. Goff is just incredible. So hard to believe he did so well at Cal passing while on his back!
Bring back bottled beer and cigars at CMS. Should get us back in the Rose Bowl!

"With the playoffs now set, we know all 49 possible matchups for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans and Yahoo Sports' Jay Busbee ranked them all.

The top 10:

Lions vs. Bills: Call it the Validation Bowl, call it the Long-Suffering Bowl, call it the At-Freaking-Last Bowl. Whatever you want to call it, this is absolutely the best possible matchup, from both an on-field and narrative standpoint. Bring it.

Vikings vs. Bills: Eight combined Super Bowl appearances, zero wins. Somebody's got to end their streak of 0-4 futility here, right? Bonus: These are two talented squads, and this would be a fantastic game.

Lions vs. Chiefs: Admit it, you want to see what kinds of trick plays Andy Reid and Dan Campbell cook up for this one. We could see everything from the ol' hidden-ball trick to full-scale Broadway productions in the backfield.

Eagles vs. Bills: This game needs to be played in the snow. That will be a difficult task to pull off in a dome in New Orleans, but I have faith in the NFL.

Vikings vs. Chiefs: A rematch of Super Bowl IV, which Kansas City won 23-7. They ought to play this one with 1970s equipment and under 1970s officiating rules, just to see who's really the toughest.

Rams vs. Bills: The two teams responsible for one of the great points-scoring shootouts of the 2024 season? Sure, that'll work.

Eagles vs. Chiefs: A rematch of Super Bowl LVII a couple years back, where Philly led going into the 4th quarter, but stop us if you've heard this one before Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to victory.

Lions vs. Ravens: This would be a ground-game Super Bowl for the ages. Sonic & Knuckles vs. King Henry. Who ya got?

Rams vs. Chiefs: The two teams responsible for one of the greatest regular-season games of all time? Sure, that'll work too.

Buccaneers vs. Bills: The Bucs have been a mystery all season dominant some weeks, barely good enough to win others, but always somehow in the hunt. Prediction: The Bills post a four-touchdown lead and watch in horror as Tampa Bay crawls back into the game.

Looking through the youtube comments for Detroit games, it seems the Lions have become a second favorite team to watch this year for fans of other teams.

"Commanders (+9.5) at Lions (Sat. 5 pm Fox): Two long-struggling franchises enjoyed their best season in years (if not ever), as Detroit scored the fourth-most points in NFL history and Washington found increasingly clutch ways to win behind rookie sensation Jayden Daniels.

Sonic and Knuckles: The league's best RB tandem is back in action with David Montgomery (knee) rejoining Jahmyr Gibbs in Detroit's backfield. That's bad news for Washington, which allowed the third-most rushing yards per game this season.

Three decades later: The Commanders haven't reached the NFC Championship since 1991, when they beat the Lions (!) en route to their third Super Bowl."

I see two outcomes tomorrow, either a Lions blowout or the Lions laying an egg and getting by Washington.

Lions 9.5pts favorites.

Not hard to see why:
They play in exciting, high scoring games. The team doesn't really have a history that anyone alive remembers, and Barry Sanders and Alex Karras are the only players of real note the past 60 years. So, no fan base has an axe to grind with them about anything. And we've been watching them all these years on Thanksgiving Day (just like the other America's Team).

Goff is a cut above these two youngsters, and he is working within a good offensive system and lots of talent, their offense is firing on all cylinders.

If they can get a couple of their studs from D back from injury they're going to be favored all the way through.

WR Calvin Johnson, "Megatron" was also noteworthy.

RB Montgomery will be back from injury but some fans think Jahmyr Gibbs should get more carries. Too explosive.

The pundit class is itching for Goff to be who they thought he was. Keeping him in the MVP race would only seem to set him up to fail. I'm just glad he's not in that conversation.
