Yeah, there are no athletes on the field now, so they should turn off the damn recorded junk. The TSU band is r eally loud. Love it.

The echo is fixed in top of EE but it's still too loud. 96 decibel average.

100%

I saw them upgrading on my way to LHS kids camps this summer and was hopeful.

So far my only complaint is too minor to mention again. Great experience so far.

Ugh! The absurdly high volume on the PA system was a contributing factor in my decision to give up my season tickets after almost four decades.

Would be nice if they could use it to make a fake cannon shot. I'm assuming fire safety is why we had no cannon today.

We had the canon.
Piped in crappy music was WAY too loud.

The music was good. Much better than prior years.

I would say the PA system is WAY too loud. It's exhausting. My ears still hurt, like I went to the range without ear pro. I wouldn't go back without that being changed.

It was annoying while there, but my ears actually hurt what, 2 or 3 hours later?

Nothing is gained from that volume. Voices are washed out, it makes cheering seem stupid to try (PA for voice should be 5-10db louder than peak crowd to cut through, but ALL PA was that loud ...)

It doesn't create atmosphere. It breaks it.

When the stadium announcer spoke the sound was really clear, as was the music. When anyone else spoke the echo was bad in mid level EE.......

It was really too loud to have conversation under the overhang.

in section TT the sound was much clearer for voices and music

there was some echo so some fine tuning is needed

overall a big upgrade

Sound level pre game was fine. Once the game started it was like last year.

Overall a fun day

  • Unless Cal Team has requested it, DJ needs to shut it down when Cal is on offense.
  • DJ is too loud, not why we came to the game. My Apple Watch kept giving me sound warnings from the DJ (it's okay if it's from natural crowd noise, not from an amp).
  • DJ needs to coordinate with Cal Band; there were times the DJ was playing over the band and the yell leaders.
  • I loved the new videos, which focus on Cal with "Fun Facts", past plays and players, etc.
  • Glad to see the Black Bear filling up.
  • I saw whole school groups that came to the game, nice work by Cal.
  • The sound system sounded cleaner and less distorted which was great.

Maybe it gets fixed for Minn. But good gawd
- 'DJ', uh, sucks. But maybe that's my generation; I don't need loud blaring hype at every opportunity
- mic chk before game was fine - but seemed to me sound level during the game was louder
- agree that PA volume should be higher than others
- what I could hear before my eardrums eventually blew out was clearer. Baby steps
- had a hard time hearing people nxt to and in front of me. Eventually we all gave up trying to talk

Now get off my turf

Ear plugs or radio.

Or TV.

I stopped getting season tickets a couple years ago. I will probably go to a couple games by myself with my cousin, but no chance I am subjecting my young kids to concert level hearing damage. kids keeping ear pro on for hours is a no-go.

I know Cal thinks people aren't going to games because they aren't loud enough. Maybe they are right.

The sound was absolutely turned up when the game started. The refs had obscene feedback the whole game except for the initial check.

I actually thought the atmosphere and volume before the game started was good. Maybe 4 hours of it wore out my ears.

That was my experience, too!

I'm digging up these Sound System complaint threads because my sister's kid wouldn't even take his seat - "too loud, mommy!"

They had to watch upstairs, inside.

Cal has a major problem if they keep disenfranchising fans like this.

You would think they are doing it because they have "researched" what the fans want. It never ceases to amaze me. Do you really think that the piped in music somehow maintains or increases attendance? How about improving the product on the field. Do ya think that might help?

I think it's ALL about how it appears on TV.

Maybe they should paint the blocked tarped-off sections with fake fans rather than solid colors.

I still don't understand why we can't have a lower volume on west side compared to the east and make everyone happy. If we can lead the world in Nobel prizes, seems like we should be able to figure this one out...

The "stands" behind the south endzone look gawd awful on TV. I don't seem to mind when we see them because we just scored a touchdown, but when we've just given up a TD, it's very upsetting.

They dont care what fans want. They are determined to blast that crap. And it does always get louder after half time. Band hardly allowed to play yesterday ridiculous. Who is in charge of this?

They should bring back those fan cutouts they used during the pandemic and pack the endzones with them.
