It's hard to believe he went from mediocrity to the limelight in one season. He was good QB for Cal but not ARod or Goff caliber.

Better coaching, and doesn't try to do too much. You never know.

I thought he was pretty darn good here too.

Nando is a living indictment of Wilsux and company.

Indiana runs up the score on every opponent and they beat Oregon, while OSU can't claim a similar quality win. As of now, they are an undisputed top 2 team in the country

trumpanzee, it's hard to believe that a tv fan who watches cal games on his urine stained sofa in boise would evah make a positive and/or an insightful or interesting post about anything related to the cal football program considering he's NEVER attended a game at memorial stadium rite??

He is a good QB for a good system, which he is now in.

If we had just recognized Mendoza throwing downfield was our best offense, was what built our leads and just continued doing it in the 4th quarter, we would have won 10 last year,

I honestly believe Sagapolutele is a better passer than Mendoza but Mendoza has had better talent around him, last year and this.

WRs incapable of creating separation and OL wasn't giving Mendoza time last year to throw downfield. It's not clear why they didn't run more sideline patterns though, because he has certainly shown that he can complete that pass at IU.

He was. He was making up for a poor line and poor offensive system. Now he's at a place where both those things are good.

Mendoza was one of the top transfer QBs. Everyone knew he was good, including a bunch of us here who saw a potential future NFL QB held back by awful coaching and OL.

He may not be the best QB in the Big10. I'm surprised at how little ink Julian Sayin is getting given the numbers he is putting up in his rookie season. Yes, he has a superb supporting cast but Mendoza's ain't bad either.

I think you guys are missing the point that is relevant to Cal. How high in the first round will Devin Brown go? I was told here after Spring practice that our coaches thought he was just as good as Mendoza, so I'm thinking top 5.

Top 5 paycheck.
