Flo is/was a total rip-off of Erin the Esurance Girl...who is pretty hot and original for a cartoon spokesperson. Flo has the same 1960s Bondgirl/Gidget throwback look with the fake-eyelashes-only-on-top-eyelid and same hairstyle as Erin, but Erin came out long before Flo did.

I always thought Erin was artsy, very original and liked her, but I never knew what Coulrophobia (the fear of Clowns) was supposed to feel like until Flo started showing up on my TV set. Now I totally understand.

Nah. That Esurance series played on some sort of secret agent style vibe, although they've killed it for a series that seems a little bit strange.

I remember reading an article on the actress/comedian who does that "Flo" role - Stephanie Courtney. Apparently she improvised the idea of a completely overcaffeinated and excessively perky checkout girl, using her improv comedy background. All that stuff also takes a couple of hours to get the hair and makeup right.

Uh, Isaiah Mustafa's Old Spice guy on a horse is the best commercial character since the everything in the world with Terry Tate's office linebacker coming in second.
