It sounded like there was a plan for Pendergast to move on and make Tosh the DC but it didn't happen. At those times, many fans cursed the coaches and said they would never welcome them back, despite extenuating circumstances (Bockrath essentially pushed Snyder out the door refusing to extend his contract; the '49'ers didn't give Mooch the option of time, and one can't blame a coach who had been an NFL assistant a year before from taking that opportunity). I expected more from Lupoi: as a Cal alumnus he could have delayed his announcement until after LOI day.<br /><br />With his ability to motivate players, he could have been a candidate to succeed Tedford. I'm sure his name will emerge on many lists as positions at other schools become available, but could we ever trust him?

I'm not Twitter guy, but I read a post earlier (can't seem to find that thread now) where someone stated that Tosh's Twitter page was already changed-over to UW. SSB - I blamed Mooch and still blame him. He had an obligation to fulfill his promise to us. If he was that good a coach, there would have been other jobs. Maybe he was afraid that he couldn't do it here and that would have ruined his chances later. Turned out to be fool's gold, anyway.<br /><br />The world now knows what Lupoi is made of, including Shark. In fact, Shark was counting on it. Hope Lupoi keeps one hand on his butt because he will never know when he will get it. OTOH, TL, just go ahead merrily along. Shark is an honorable guy. You can trust him to look out for your best interests. You guys are made for each other.
