Long-time Giants fan here (even before Cal). I wanted to make my debut on this thread tonight, at long last, by saying, "Suck it, Dodgers!", but then I realized that no Dodger fans will be reading this thread until probably late next Spring. Damn! Off to bed...

But but but I thought this was the year for the Dodgers. They have the greatest players of all time in Kershaw and Puig. LOL

Not quite as good as the "Prophecy of Unit2" quoted above, but definitely one of my faves.

You do realize your team won't be in the playoffs in the forseable future right? Lol

The Dodgers will get their rings and parades very soon and join the other LA elite.

UW was my only hope this year (glad I didn't come LOL). If it was an earlier game where I could hop onto a SWA flight back down to LA that evening, it would have worked but no go. I may have to save myself for the Rose Bowl. :P

Seriously, how psyched are you for the huge flag-raising ceremony at Dodger Stadium on Opening Day in 2015? No one does an NL West Division Championship celebration like Tinsel Town!

OMG! That's gonna be awesome!!

I can't deny though that winning the division and the season series against the Jints (plus the MVP, Cy Young, etc) isn't completely satisfying. But knowing that we finally got rid undercover Jint agent/spy/total effing loser, Ned Colletti, gives me reason to hope for the future. The guy wears leather sport coat for crissakes. Good riddance!!

Go Bears!! We can all agree on that, right?

so, baseball can't be fixed, but apparently it can be "foxed." Starting with the ridiculous high curve strike call on panik, blue seems to be doing everything he can to keep the score at 5-0 and keep eyes on the tv. Madbum had three clear strikes called balls to start the next inning. Shameless. Say it ain't so Joe (Buck).

Bumgarner has given up 1 run in 22 innings in the World Series.
But Kershaw hasn't given up any run in the World Series, so who's laughing now!

Per ESPN:

Madison Bumgarner-led Giants put Royals' streak on ice for 1-0 lead
Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Madison Bumgarner took a two-hit shutout into the seventh inning, Hunter Pence hit a two-run homer off James Shields in a three-run first and the San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 7-1 in Tuesday night's World Series opener.

In a matchup of streaking teams, the Giants won their seventh Series game in a row dating to 2010 and ended a perfect postseason for the Royals, who had been 8-0. San Francisco also ended the Royals' 11-game postseason winning streak dating to their 1985 title, one shy of the record set by the Yankees on two occasions.

Bumgarner extended his Series scoreless streak to 21 innings before Salvador Perez's seventh-inning homer, which also ended Bumgarner's record streak of 32 2/3 scoreless postseason road innings.

Shields allowed five runs and seven hits and needed 70 pitches to get nine outs.

The Game 1 winner has captured 15 of the last 17 titles.
