Cutch's recitation of what outfielders do during fights is awesome. Same goes for the bullpen guys who do the obligatory jog up to join the scrum.

"I was in right field chillin', probably thinking about my last at-bat, how that pitch was outside, they called it a strike, it should've been a walk, but we ain't gonna talk about that right. So I'm looking down at my feet. Next thing I know I hear the fans. I'm like, 'What's going on?' So I look up, Puig and Hundley, they going at it. Next thing you know, I feel a breeze, kinda feel like a light tornado just go by me. It's the bullpen. I'm like dang, my reaction time is WAY off. So I'm like shoot, let me catch up with these people.
"By the time I got there, we was all just chillin', staring at each other Literally I thought about brightening the mood, and I was just gonna give them the karate pose. 'Come on.' But I didn't do it. And that was it.
"That's basically most brawls, for outfielders anyway. By the time you get there, it's over, so you just ran and got tired. Being in the outfield during a brawl is equivalent to getting to a little kid showing up to a birthday party late. It's like you coming in all excited - they already wet and they eating cake. 'Dang, mom.' Let's just play baseball and not fight."

You're being a jerk by continuing to post this off-topic BS on a football board, making everyone have to wade through it every day...

Puig suspended 2 games, Hundley fined but not suspended.

This is what I'd expect, by the way. Hundley said words. Puig threw punches. The latter will always get a bigger punishment.

Cutch was a bright spot in a sad season. He gets traded and we go into a tailspin. Dang, I miss him already.

Eleven in a row?!? I am officially going to stop bragging about "even years", though I will still gloat every time the Dodgers don't win it all.

11 in a row. Sounds like the LeMaster and Kingman Giants...just pure shtty.

p.s. the reason why the Giants don't care, their real business is as developers. They're making bank off the land right they own south of McCovey.

Giants were about a .500 team before they started shutting guys down and/or trading them away for the season. Now they stink.

.500 seemed about right for the roster they had. Could have maybe outperformed if things had broken right in terms of injuries, etc. They didn't.

Not sure there's much to do about this. They're on the other side of making a few playoff runs, after the stars get old and money has been spent trying to extend the championship window. It's a common cycle. They'll get back again eventually.

A top payroll and a mediocre roster. The lightning in the bottle is completely gone. They couldn't t even buy wins properly.

No, because Larry Baer walks on water. I know, because he told me so in 1978 (not in so many words, but still...).

The refrain of the vanquished.

Still 9 games to go. Anything can happen but I like the trend.

Puig has been awesome

Giants were at least semi-relevant through July this year. Better than being done in May as before.

Enjoy the hell outta those division titles. Celebrating those is the "refrain of the vanquished".

Not gonna lie, I was looking forward to the Dodgers missing the playoffs entirely. But it appears the D-Backs and the Rockies couldn't hold up their end of the bargain.

Gotta tip your hat to the Giants this year. What they did was remarkable to become one of the most improved teams in all of baseball. To go from 40 games behind the Dodgers in the standings to 12ish is pretty amazing. And overall, to go from almost 40 games below .500 to 10ish? Solid. Incredible turnaround. If this kind of trajectory holds up, even as I hate to say it as a Dodger fan, the Giants are gonna be back in business in a big way. If Bochy isn't manager of the year, the whole thing is a fraud.

So what if the Giants finished behind the Dodgers? Since neither team is winning a World Series this year, the season officially goes down as a tie with both teams deemed losers regardless of what happens in the playoffs. I mean, duh.

They need to do what the Dodgers did and make a massive investment in their minor league system.

I still think Bochy is one of the best, but how long until he becomes like Mike Scioscia? Mike milked his WS title for a decade. So not sure if Bochy gets 3x (or perhaps 4 since he took SD to a WS) the leeway Mike does. Francona is another one that gets a pass. Sure the Indians have no comp in the AL central, but they have been blowing leads left and right. Tampa Bay and Oakland are much better than them right now, but the Indians will get a nice spot in the playoffs.
