LA using an opener instead of starting Urias.

https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/giants/dodgers-opt-start-corey-knebel-nlds-game-5-vs-giants

Trying to get SF to use its left handers in the starting lineup.

Does anyone know what the rules are for submitting lineups?

Like do official lineups have to submitted by both teams at the same time? What would prevent the dodgers, for instance, to completely surprise the giants and not announce knebel would be starting?

If I were the Giants, I'd just use the same lineup you were planning to send out against Urias, only maybe you move up Crawford and anyone who still hits righties well up in the order. You know he's coming out pretty soon, or if Roberts strangely decides to keep Urias shelved and lets you face the bullpen instead, all the better.

Knebel has reverse splits so I agree, there's absolutely no reason to panic and change your lineup. If anything, move up anyone who may have really good career numbers against knebel

Roberts just wants a right handed pitcher who can throw a low breaking ball 6 inches off the plate away on a righty. That way, if Webb gets it, at least the Dodgers get the call too.

Let's hope Kapler can channel his inner Bruce Bochy. Should be a nail-biter tonight!

Interesting that Roberts texted this to Kapler.

Great series. Congrats to the Dodgers. They should bring home the WS this year.

Very fun series. Great season, Giants, and congrats on winning the division!

Well, the first base ump gave a check swing back to LA I guess.

Credit to the Dodgers, they shut down the Giants hitting after Game 1.

That strike call on the checked swing by Flores was a complete joke. The replay CLEARLY showed that it wasn't even close to a strike. The ump completely blew it, as the TV announcers acknowledged. Guess he just wanted the Dodgers to win.

The call was garbage, but in all honesty . . . I did not expect Flores to get on base anyway. Dodger pitching was great.

Except for the game Kershaw chokes, if he pitches.

Yup. Crap call. And there were numerous at critical times all night. The Dodgers have all the talent money can buy but make them win it-don't give it to them.

Horrible call. I would not be as gracious as you SF fans if that was against the Dodgers. Even if it was close (it was not) you don't end that game on a call like that. Officiating was horrible. The ump even kicked the ball away from Will Smith on the passed ball!

I am not really sure what the hell Roberts was thinking starting Knebel and then pulling Urias after 4. Okay, he was not sharp but not sure what that bought them. At the end with Jansen doing well and lots of pitchers left in the pen they went to Scherzer?'

Equally baffling is why the Giants went to Gausman after the Dodgers showed they could hit him in his last outing.

Bellinger had two big hits in this series even while looking lost at the plate most of the time.

Webb is amazing! Can't believe he is a rookie! Was hoping he'd get rattled like Kershaw but he has nerves of steel!

Good series. Wish there were more games to play.

Yeah, Turner hadn't hit the broad side of a barn all series. Giving him a free base was brutal. And it was clear Doval didn't trust his fastball after that, because he didn't throw any to Bellinger when he probably should have.

Bellinger can't handle the high fastball.

It is poetic that the Dodger fans spent all season complaining about how everyone else was cheating and biased against them and then they won on . . . that.

Lol what? You mean oski003? But you're right, Flores was totally gonna figure Max out for the first time in 18 AB on the next pitch. Where is 71 to put you guys in your place with sage wisdom about the better team scoring more runs etc.

What the hell was that Chris Taylor bunt with 2 on and 1 out all about?!

Could have cost LA the game.

Hey, look who didn't read my previous post about Flores.

You just had a historic season and should be celebrating that instead of having little outbursts on BI. Unfortunately to win the game you must score more runs than your opponent, and your team failed to do so.

I'm drained. Bottom line on this game is that the Giants couldn't capitalize early, when they had men on base. With regard to the ball/strike calls, a lot of them were off and the Giants seemed to get plenty in their favor, especially early.

I always thought we (Giants) were just a bit overmatched. The magic has to come to an end some time.

I'd love to say something bad about the Dodgers right now, but they just beat us and -- Cal guy that I am -- I have way too much class for that, so "Good series, LA."

Agreed. Kapler sums it up:
