Pretty funny that so many UDumbasses are pointing out "Shag" as if it were Tedford who's editing and ultimately publishing those short articles in his other job as the Seattle Times' weekend web editor. I hope he's not being nearly as understanding and "classy" behind closed doors.

No wonder we lost him....we were recruiting the wrong guy, some mysterious player named "Shag Thompson". Don't you hate it when that happens?

Shag would actually be a more unique and cool name.

HAHA, "timing was a little awkward."
Translation...Tosh is a piece of **** who we trusted with our future but left us hanging like a cheap hooker who I rented a room for but she chose to blow some dude in a car for $.50 more.

A 50-10 beatdown in our shiny new house sounds about right.

UW fans see Tedford as classy because Tedford is classy. It's that simple.

Reading between the lines, what Tedford wishes he could say: "Yes, of course it bothers me. It bothers me a lot. A guy I trusted turned out to be a traitor with no morals and no sense of loyalty. And as for Sark, he's an opportunistic snake. I hope they both go to hell."

Often, nice guys finish last and clearly, JT is a nice guy (at times too much so in my opinion). I'm not saying JT should trash Tosh, but he could have shown a little more fire in this case. Why not show a little anger for how it happened and how Cal (and in particular JT) was treated?
Saying something as simple as, "we expect more from our staff when they depart" or "it did not happen the way it should have. Ultimately, that is more a reflection on UW then us and we are moving on." If you don't stand up for yourself and call out bad behavior when someone screws you, it makes it a lot easier for someone else to do it in the future.

I'd really like to know more about the Arik Armstead move to Oregon. If he was in Tosh's camp why didn't he migrate to Seattle? If he was committed to Cal, why did he wind up in Eugene? Would Arik have gone to Oregon regardless of Tosh? Did Lupoi actually have less of a leash on Armstead than believed? How could Chippie enter at the last moment and sweep Armstead off his feet when he was (privately) committed to Cal? What really happened and why?
Shaq is the only recruit to follow Tosh. I believe that the presence of James Sample and Wilcox had as much or more to do with him committing there as anything else. Maybe Tosh isn't such a great recruiter after all. Maybe it was a confluence of many things, including other coaches, that enhanced his image as a top recruiter?

Many programs were recruiting these guys. The feeling was Tosh + Cal was a strong sell with commitments and near commitments. Tosh leaving Cal weakened Cal more than it helped UW. Other than Shaq, people didn't trust Tosh enough to jump to UW, but it left Cal damaged and programs like Oregon benefited.

I appreciate the effort, but I don't believe your response says you know more than I do at this point. Of course it weakened us. But we are not getting to the point of how all of a sudden Oregon appeared on the scene and waltzed off with Arik. How did that happen? The Ducks were barely mentioned in connection with his recruitment. I believe I followed it as closely as anyone else on this Board. It was really between us and SC as I recall.

Love Tedord's class. We don't want to give them any bulletin board materials, as we should save it all for ourselves to rile our team up. Since our DL coach bailed on our team at the last minute.
It still hurts to this date everytime I see the name Shaq Thompson, Arik Armstead, etc. The only way to ease this pain is to run up that score against UW. I for one will be there cheering until my voice is gone for us to beat those pups

SC was out because his brother Armond was unhappy and going to transfer. That is why he de-committed in the first place.
He never visited UW.
