She never really answered the question about what criteria she uses to make coaching changes.

She realized that the fans expect a lot more. And that it was important to win. And no one wants to win more than Tedford.

She never said she was going to keep Tedford, or committed to him for any length of time.

Her last statement was something to the effect that Cal football demands excellence.

Wow. 99% of the time, that statement is met with a stock answer like, "We are absolutely committed to X as our head coach." If not going further with something like "and I'd like end all speculation by promising he'll be back in 2013".

Guess we're one step closer to a new HC at Cal.

My guess is that Tedford will be given a chance to beat Furd. If he does not, they will say he is finishing this season and will not be back next year due to health reasons.

The rest of the season will be a HUGE "goodbye Tedford" gig during Washington and Furd with his biggest wins shown on the screen during time outs, etc etc, culminating with the naming of some major part of the stadium before the Oregon game...

SB was Romneyesque....wrote off more than half of the fans, talking about what a fantastic game experience in the "new" CMS.....wide concourse, new bathrooms, fabulous club areas, stadium concierges, "can I help you", "welcome back to your home you deserve, yada yada yada.

No mention of us cattle on the east side, with our opulent outhouses and invisible watering troughs......I guess that's what we deserve.

I assume she makes her recommendation at season end (and it sounds like she already is posturing for a new coach), and its up to the Chancellor. Its very unusual these days to fire coaches until after or close to the end of the season.

No, must have missed that as I was picking Kid2th up from piano at that time.
But....I did hear something about custom ordered sushi.

I see no reason that there should be such a stark difference between the east and west.
During the last season of old CMS, a tent was erected on Maxwell for ESP people to go hang out, read buy beer, during half time. I was told, it was air conditioned and had TVs.
Now, they have an "adult" area marked off on Maxwell for pregame beer sale.
How hard could it be to erect a tent on Witter Field at the large Rim Way gate, it could be air conditioned and have tvs.....as well as beer.........or

it could be an East side Bear Backer tent.

Perhaps even have an east side "kid registration" station.
My point is, that much of what makes the west so nice, could also be supplied to the east, at the very least, M.A.S.H. style.

And........a few drinking fountains would be nice.

I reluctantly moved to the West Side because we got aged out of New Alumni and the seatbacks in EE were more appealing than the view from T. Not complaining, I would have made the same decision(s) about the New Alumni section.

Is the East Side really worse off than before? I never sat on the U/T side of the students. My assumption is that perhaps with the reseating those sections now have fewer no-shows than before, and of course they don't adjoin the concourse so it seems worse by comparison.

I really have a hard time with you criticizing the east side of the stadium. I mean, the plans have been on the books for 8 years. Are you surprised about the results? The stadium is exactly as they described it.

The new stadium is great. I sit in Section T and if I want to go to the can, I can use the outhouse or walk about 150 feet and go to the bathrooms in section V. Big deal. Get over it.

If you can see no reason why there is such a stark difference between the east and the west, let me enlighten you. The west is not built INTO THE HILLSIDE. There actually is room under the west to build concessions and restrooms into the stadium.

Second - the other difference is THE WEST SIDE COSTS A LOT MORE TO SIT THERE. If you want seats in the 25 - 50 yard line, you need to cough up a heck of a lot more than the $300 donation per ticket. Go ahead and do that and enjoy your new seats with all of your amenities.

When all of the ESP tickets are sold, they will start building better seats on the East side, and fix the amenities. Clearly there is not demand for that now. There is also no demand to move the students away from the 50 yard line. So move to the other side or stop complaining.

Well, I had to scramble just to listen. I tried KNEW online, but kept getting a double broadcast, the one I wanted and a business broadcast...

We have to put our resources behind the job creators. In my experience the east side is full of people looking for handouts and free water. They live off the munificence of others
