How long do you want to ignore this user?
A close friend of mine who went to high school with Tosh said he was psyched up about the Dykes hiring and the possibility of working with DeWayne Walker to build a recruiting powerhouse in Berkeley for years to come, according to my sources.

Is Petersen still on the radar according to your sources? :p

Could be true ... especially after a year at UDuh ...
kinda like the guy who cheats on his gf, then looks back with regret as he realizes not only what he threw away but also the dishonorable way in which he did it.
But, who gives a rat's ass about to$h's heartache.

I AM looking forward to watching a Dykes offense against a to$h "defense".
Damn, it's so nice to look forward as the dark clouds disappear with Sonny days ahead. Dare I dream that I can smile at my tOSU neighbor??????

The problem is we can only afford to give him a boat like this:

I would only give him that boat if it was full of crap.

Tosh is garbage.

He cannot come back.

I want Sonny and his squad to obliterate Tosh's squad on a yearly basis.

We don't look too kindly on traitors to the cause like Benedict Arnold, John Walker Lindh, Aldrich Ames, UCLA grad Tokyo Rose, and Tosh Lupoi.

Tosh may eventually come back here, but it will have to be a long time from now. I know Sandy will not approve him, and if I was a HC, I would not trust him to pull crap the day before signing day again.

Would love to see Tosh come back to Cal in his old position (DL assistant) and with a new recruiting coordinator title and a hefty pay raise. Dunno about DC though, would prefer someone with more experience and a good track record.

It may have been possible if Lupoi hadn't:
(1) attempted to hold up Cal for bucks,
(2) secretly recruited for another school while wearing Cal's colors,
(3) had actually kept his word about remaining with Cal when his initial salary demand was met.

On top of those three character flaws, he also recruited athletes who were, at best, marginally committed to performing in the classroom and, one supposes, marginally committed to the team.

I'm not liking the combination, at all. Further, it's deeply disappointing for a Cal alum to display these traits.

No Thanks. Good Luck to him, though. He might need it.

^^^Agreed. The only thing Tosh could've done to make it worse was to write "P.S., Go F yourselves" on his resignation letters/memos to Sandy and Tedford.

Im probably in the minoity, but I would welcome tosh back. Everybody makes decisions in life that they regret. If he comes back humbly and eager to prove himself again, we could use a recruiting genius like him. Besides we all saw how things in Telford land wasn't so peachy ... Maybe he just had to get away.

I wouldn't even hire Lupoi to clean up the bathrooms at Kip's.

It is not the decisions or choices that he made that damn him, it's the absolute lack of character that he exhibited while doing it that makes him a scumbag.

If he had even said "Look, I'm resigning immediately and will be heading to Washington in a couple days, sorry about the lack of any advance notice, but I wish you guys the best..." it would've been better than the way he dealt with it.

But no, he knew he was going to leave for probably a half a week, and intentionally recruited for Washington on Cal's time and money until then.

Everything Tosh did was premeditated.

Wow, truly hell hath no fury like a mediocre college football team fanbase scorned.

Get over it guys.

Tosh, as a former Cal player, did more for the Cal football program than any of you who are not former players have done or will ever do. And that includes all the mega-rich, personal injury lawyer boosters out there. He made some poor choices, but so did Tedford.

Now, Tedford is thankfully out of Berkeley and so let's welcome back Tosh to his alma mater and let this highly valuable and talented young man help his program get back on track and finally lead us to the Rose Bowl with the new coaching staff.

Devil's advocate's take: as Herm Edwards says, you play to win the game. Once his mind was made up, he went to work 100% for the fuskies...which meant in the process infliciting as much damage as possilbe on it's opponents, including Cal. Underhanded and dirty? Absolutely.

Somewhat ironic we're discussing Tosh on Pearl Harbor day. Would that make Harper, Powe, and Dozier the aircraft carriers up near Midway?

Fair game. But then people much wiser than Herm Edwards came up with the following:

"Don't burn your bridges..."

"You made your bed, now lie in it."

"Chickens come home to roost."

.... I think I would. It would be a total sell out of integrity and character in my view, which would be unacceptable as an example to the student athletes and would send the absolutely wrong message to the public about the University's values and those of its athletic department.
