They are not. Did not mean to implicate they were. However the general tone of some seems to be we traded having guys like Mora has on his staff, because they were always dangerous to flee and not be committed to the school, for guys who will be here long term.
But what makes Dykes' assistants more committed?
Dykes assistants might be more committed because they are not all about the NFL, unlike Mora's and JTs. No definites here, but Dykes is engaged in a process of finding guys that like being at the college level and like staying together.
Mora's philosophy is different and so far it has worked at UCLA. But that same philosophy created instability at Cal in the long run.
Tedford, I conceed to you that Mora's approach is kicking ass right now. But Dykes' approach is not designed to show immediate results. Building relationships takes time. Mora has built relationships too, no doubt, but it remains to be seen whether or not those relationships will create long term stability for UCLA. At the beginning Lane Kiffin looked good at $C and they were set up for a great year. But Kiffin is not good at building stable long term relationsips and now things are coming apart. My sense about Mora is that he is much better than Kiffin. But how much better he is than Dykes remains to be seen.
