Lettuce does not belong in a burrito. Any place that does this loses points in my book.

Not sure about a burrito, because isn't that an American creation anyway (but yes, it still shouldn't be)? But definitely not in a taco. No shredded lettuce, sour cream or grated cheese should be in a taco. Just a warm tortilla, carne asada, diced onions, cilantro. Then add good dark roasted salsa, and some pickled radish, carrot, onion and/or peppers.

I'm no burrito expert but that's the only place in recent years that I've had a burrito. I can say they do put lettuce in their burritos but the ingredients are fresh (shrimp burrito is excellent) and the place is clean, some things that are extremely important to my SO.

Anybody remember a green-colored taqueira on the west side of Telgraph just below Durant?

It was open in the '90s.

I used to like that place.

I remember interviewing the owner about her business struggles.

It used to occupy this location, I believe.

Anbyody remember the name?

Yeah - I remember Zona Rosa. I was eating there when a panhandler came into the place and asked me for money. When I refused, I got yelled at because "I only want something to eat!!!"

Not my problem dude.

Data: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Chart: Axios Visuals

"The California burrito, a San Diego staple stuffed with carne asada, fries, cheese, sour cream and salsa costs 20% more to make (and significantly more to buy), Axios San Diego's Kate Murphy writes from producer price index data.

Why it matters: It's tough to find this flavor-packed San Diego staple for under $10 anymore.

By the numbers: Salsa had the highest increase at 37.5%, followed by tortillas at nearly 34% and sour cream at 29%.

Cheddar and beef prices increased by about 13% and 10%, respectively, while potato prices decreased by 6%"

Cholita Linda is known for their fish tacos, and for good reason.

Mole Burrrito, Talavera, Salono Ave, Albany. Mole is not for everyone, but this burrito rocks.

In Los Angeles area, La Azteca and Sonoratown (the one closer to the Gringo area actually is better). This is for a more authentic burrito. For you Yangui types, the burrito is rooted in Northern Mexico cuisine from the late 1800s, and was refining in places line CA for Yanqui tastes,

Isn't a lot of this hyper-dependent on what your meat selection is? Tacos Sinaloa on Telegraph has been written up as having the best carnitas in the bay area. I've had better carnitas at Faro's and Los Coyotes.

Just don't complain about a Sinaloa taco.

Used to love Zona Rosa on Telegraph back in the day. Don't often hear it mentioned on here. Build your own burrito...basically, Chipotle before there was one. Not sure why they weren't able to stay open.
