Well, I'd imagine that any new uniform element would get a lot of attention, wherever it is on the uniform. It also seems like there's a single page dedicated to the new "Mascot Mark" so they are drawing attention to it before they show the uni.

nowhere in all these posts did I read what "dope" means. I'm assuming it means cool / hep / bees knees / cat's pajamas ??

I always liked the walking bear logo. Not sure about it being on the helmet though. No one's posted it yet, but either yesterday or the day before Cal Athletics posted on facebook about the new uniform, showing a picture of the "Block C" helmet design (from 1970) asking "what will 2013 hold" with a decidedly reflective gold Block C - I had no idea it was such a shiny gold - all the photos I had seen made it look more like a flat gold/yellow. Here's the picture:
