Ditch the white helmets
Use NO grey.
Use NO white pants except with white tops.

Any precedent for such? I know of helmets with a clean side, like the Steelers, but not any where there are different images...

There are very few if any except for Maryland and ND's new helmets don't have two images but still have that shimery thing going on......

I think they should announce the new uniforms by showing 100 webcams with BI posters wearing the new uniforms while sitting at their desk at home. Nothing flatters a football jersey like the body of a 45-year-old sports fan with a gut and no shoulder pads..

I wouldn't mind traditional uniforms if we had a lot of tradition. At one point the old style was new. 40 years from now, current students will be asking to keep these jerseys that they are coming out with now. If the team plays better because they are psychologically letting go of an era that hasn't gone to the Rose Bowl and creating a new era, I'm all for it.

The helmet blob really looks like a side profile of a bear's head--you can sort of see that his mouth is open.

Also, kidd said "bear on the sleeve"...lynch said, "bear territory" and the female call girl said, "ferocious"...

...also, they emphasize "mascot mark" on the video...

Not too excited about the prospects of a bear on the helmet...

Script Cal (or, hell, California) has to be somewhere prominent on the jersey... that's who we are. Without it there are no identifying marks unless it's one sick bear logo.

It doesn't seem like Nike can do anything without adding something new to get attention. There does have to be some kind of new mascot logo because J Kidd says he wishes they had it when he played... and he wasn't wearing football jerseys.

Just have to wait a few more days....

She compliments the use of a mascot on our uniforms. If I had to guess, there is a bear (the side California Bear logo) on our sleeves.

My guess is that the helmet will have the Joe Kapp bear claw logo with Cal script, this time on both sides of the helmet (vs in 82 when I believe it was just on the right side). The blurry photos suggest this to me, as do the comments from the teaser videos.

My second guess is that we'll see the Oski logo - the one on the hat shown above - on the sleeve.

Not too long now until we see the damn things!

Yep.. If it's a bear on the helmet, I think it'll have to woo the fan base and the alums. Without the Cal script, anything less than a sick bear logo design would be a disappointment, imo.

Except that some of the comments from people in the video have mentioned a bear on the SLEEVE, not the helmet. It would still be a new uniform element but not necessarily on the helmet.

Certainly a bear on the helmet is possible, but I wouldn't put the odds at 100%.

Edit: my opinion is that it will be the walking bear logo not a face style logo.

I like that, I this classy, traditional, and unique. Would be cool on undershirt sleeves and the script on the helmet!

I always liked the walking bear logo. Not sure about it being on the helmet though. No one's posted it yet, but either yesterday or the day before Cal Athletics posted on facebook about the new uniform, showing a picture of the "Block C" helmet design (from 1970) asking "what will 2013 hold" with a decidedly reflective gold Block C - I had no idea it was such a shiny gold - all the photos I had seen made it look more like a flat gold/yellow.
