in all seriousness....it makes less sense for a school like Oregon to hype up their uniforms for the exact reason you stated. whereas, this kind of marketing has been employed by multiple other schools that change their uniform once in awhile. It's part of an effort to just get the fanbase more excited.

Seriously, though, I am a fan of the 80s-90s design but I don't seriously expect we'll go back to an exact copy of those uniforms. If we have something that looks "of a piece" with that look then I'd be happy. The problem with some of our recent combos (particularly those involving white helmets or pants) is that they barely look like they come from the same school.

It's pretty obvious a bear is going to replace the cal script. If you watch the remembering the past represent the future thing, it focuses a lot on the changing of the logo over time.

agreed --- highlighter yellow has its place (rarely, but not never, not on football uniforms) and children's sentiments are often valid (usually in letters to Santa) - by the way, drivel has no age constraints (old fart or snot nose) - let's just see how the new unis look - I prefer the Kapp era stuff to the later-day Tedford stuff (canary & storm trooper), but I think some of the Oregon unis were pretty cool - I'll even go so far as to admit that I liked some aspects of the much-assaulted Maryland unis (don't tell anyone) - I'm hoping the new Cal livery will be bold, singular, and inextriplically (sp?) linked to Cal in every way (not shared with West Virginia or any other Nike client with some blue and gold/yellow color scheme) - in other words, Cals own, unique, identifable, body TAT (see, there, I said it) - Go Bears!!!

I think you're right that a Bear will be on the helmet, but I HOPE NOT.

The Cal script is one of the most recognizable and best logos in college sports. I hope they keep the logo on the helmet.

Well, they've been pimping these uniforms with Jason Kidd and Marshawn Lynch, some of the most recognizable pro athletes from Cal. The videos are very melodramatic and both have them saying how dope the new unis are. Then they have a date at the end like it's opening day of Harry Potter 7.

If that's not hype, then we must have different definitions of the word. Off season is besides the point.

It doesn't matter how cool the uniforms are, if the script Cal is not on the helmet I will make a thread complaining about it

I think it's a bear on the helmet too, why else would there be so much hype

I think the giveaway is marshawn saying this is bear territory as his first impression.

In Kate's video, she says its angry so it may be a new angry bear mascot

I'm pretty sure they show the logo changing because the point was that before we had no centralized visual identity. Changing the logo again wouldn't make sense. I think it re-establishes everything around the main script Cal logo, adds the golden bear on the sleeve as our official mascot mark.

i know the pictures are blurry, but i see a lot of yellow on the helmets. i really really hope they did not put a bear on the helmet...25 and im with the "old farts" i like the classic look..cal script please!
