Really young team decimated by injuries on both sides of the ball, with a brutal schedule with the 2012 quit when the going gets tough psyche to overcome and a culture that needs to be changed, don't blame the coaches at this point.
I love the fact that the kids don't quit and we're seeing kid that were playing in high school a year ago playing against Pac 12 elite players.
I love that the coaches don't throw kids under the bus, don't throw their play charts in disgust and more importantly, keep talking to the kids to help them get through this injury laden debacle!
I 'm definitely no sunshine pumper but I am a realist with coaching experience and more importantly, a fan with 6 decades of watching the ups and downs of not only Cal football but other Cal sports as well.
Hopefully, all the Cal football fans will wait until after the 2015 season to call for any coaches head.
Until then, imagine how bad the kids on the team feel and despite the potential outcome, we all need to come out and support them. It will be worth it in the long run! Think about them like your own kids gong through a tough patch and how you'd encourage them.
They need us and if you went to all the games during the Holmoe era like I did, bringing my future Cal alum son with me, trying to explain why the decks of the frats were empty unlike the examples I had told him about for years, this is waaaaay better.
This is our team and they're fighting the Taliban with no weapons, yet they don't quit. I say we shouldn't either!
GO BEARS!
