It was the right move to put Kline in, and it was the right move to pull him when they did.

It was psychologically wrong to take Kline out after two series. That move makes me hopelessly wonder about the staff's ability to motivate and push the right buttons.

I think it was only two series. And a total dick move. Give him the rest of the game to see what he can do. It's not like we're playing for anything.

I have to admit I have never seen that done at any level with the exception of when the substituted QB gets injured.

The staff was trying to motivate Goff. They want Kline to transfer.

Anyone know if Kline was told in advance so he could start warming-up?

Dude was treating his hands like they were pretty cold. No sleeve to warm them in, no gloves...
He got a super raw deal from the equipment manager and coaches.
It was equivalent to what the staff did to Goff in Oregon (no cold or wet ball drills, etc). They have no clue how to manage a team. It is extremely obvious.

I don't think Sonny could spell "cat" if you spotted him the "c" and the "a".

I agree. Goff's performance had diminished to the point where he had to make a change if the goal was to still try and win. Then Kline came in and showed once again that he is simply too amped up, overthrows, and is very erratic. He provide a boost of energy, has a strong arm, and can scramble better than Goff--but he is far less accurate and he forces it even worse than Goff. Love the guy, but he's not as good as Goff right now.
After three series it was pretty plain to me that the best chance to win was to bring Goff back in and hope that sitting him would dial him in. But it didn't and the play calling continued to be very suspect.
Most on this board are so emotional about the QB decision--but Goff is our best QB right now (and he has some serious limitations in terms of being a leader, touch on long ball, forcing into coverage, and pre-electing his target and throwing underneath/over the top too often when the mid route is open).
