It will be an offshoot of The Drive, featuring a different P12 fan board each year.

This board might be peaking too soon this season. It's only Week 2! If Texass loses to Rice, we might have some entertaining Horn fans here next week.

Many thanks Unit2, but I can't take too much credit. You never know where these things will go and I certainly didn't expect this. Who could have known, for example, that writing "please don" in a thread title (and nothing else) could go on for a dozen pages? Sometimes you just get lucky.

Ok, since I started this thread I feel compelled to give an update on what is happening on AztecMesa (actually who am I kidding? Kicking off this thread may be the single greatest accomplishment of my life).

Shortly after this thread got started here, a thread on AztecMesa appeared under the heading "WTF I go to Cal Board and they are talking about this site." This then kicks off a multi page thread on AztecMesa where some posters are telling the mods they are embarrassing themselves and the school by coming to BI stirring things up, the mods responding that they didn't stir anything up but rather were just responding to the improprieties of Aztec Steve on BI and other folks taking various sides in the debate.

Then seven pages in the moderator realizes that the "WTF" thread was actually started by none other than Aztec Steve using the alias Aero01 (Steve apologize if that isn't true - it's been great having you on this board and your participation has been most welcome - I'm just reporting on what is going on over there). Of course one of the main critics of the mods behavior in that thread was Aero01. The mods then ban Aero01 and change his name on the site to "Aero01 aka Aztec Steve." Hilarity ensues. Personally I've really enjoyed having all of the Aztec fans on here and found both sides of the debate to be great. Here's hoping for a fun game on Saturday. Looking forward to making the return trip to San Diego!

Aero on Evil Mesa is not me.

I got a text from a friend that a person named Aero was banned from Evil Mesa and "Chuckles The MOD" thinks it was me.

Speaking hilarity continuing, here is some background...

And for extra entertainment, Chuckles top MOD (who has now quit) thought I was signing up names on Evil Mesa at San Diego Public Libraries and she banned the entire San Diego City library IP's. How funny is that for paranoia. She banned the entire city! Business 101 is not a class these folks took in school...Ha

I have a friend that used to send much paper work from Fed Ex Offices and Mail Box etc's. This certain MOD banned the IP's of all Fed Ex offices and Mail Box etcs in San Diego. That according to my friend that frequents many of them and while sending paperwork to his office out of State, he used to go on AztecMesa to catch up on the Aztecs.

I also have a friend that lives downtown and used to frequent the Hotels down there. He used to pop into certain hotels to check up on Aztec info occasionally. All of the IP's in these (approx. 20 downtown) hotels have been banned by MOD's of Evil Mesa because "Chuckles The MOD" thought I was the one signing up.

Now just in case "Chuckles" feels like he has to come in and deny this...that is ok. But when he does, feel free to play a song that I introduced to his board in the name of his many legendary strange (less than true) comments by the MOD himself...

Aztec Steve, it sounds like you've been wronged on many levels. A lot of these guys don't even have the steel to man up about their actions.

I'm late to the party, but I hadn't realized that USD was D1AA aka 'FCS', but didn't offer scholarships. That's a cut far below Grambling. FCS schools offer 63 scholarships.

So one offensive touchdown vs a non scholarship FB team is pretty bad.

Read the Aztec Mesa thread. Seems like a cool group of guys - even if they are at each other a bit. No different than here. Was surprised to see a few posters think the Cal people would not respect SDSU. Like many here, I had several friends go there - smart people and a solid school. Lots of my friends are also SJSU grads. Similar profile - mostly intelligent hard working people. Looking forward to the game and am praying that we do not look past this Saturday.

I do want to make one thing clear, Steve created a couple dozen aliases on The Mesa, aliases that were confirmed as Steve by another Mod who was able to verify that they were Steve using IP addresses and the like.

Aero1 was most certainly Steve.

This kind of drama is both unnecessary and pathetic. I mean, why go on another school's board and bitch about a mod from a board you got banned from four years earlier? Especially when that mod isn't even a member of that board?

Again, I apologize to Cal Nation for the unnecessary drama brought to your board. Bear Insider and its members are awesome. Great board, great people.

Ha dajo9...Well, I am fair guy. Let me say this. I am not totally innocent in this long running fiasco. I am very guilty of the following...

-Not letting go. (To become an enemy of mine you have to work VERY hard at it. I basically like everybody. IF you do cross that line and become an enemy you have an enemy for life. You earned it.)

-Taking shots at "Chuckles The MOD" on Evil Mesa. That will stop when I am invited back to that board AND he promises to moderate evenly and fairly. (something he is incapable of doing).

I am no angel but all of this should have never happened years ago and it has increased over the years.

I rather enjoy it now. I can talk sports on other boards (I am on about 90 boards). I rarely take shots at Chuckles on those boards unless something like this thread comes up. And if they want to come on an opposing board and battle with me, I am ok with that.

Chuckles and his Dad know this much about me. I'm not hard to find and once they find me they wish they hadn't. Shame on them for coming here and embarrassing his own board.

Interesting Dajo about guys not having the steel to man up. This Athletic Dept. employee that came here and posted above, hides behind an internet name and slams the hell out of a booster that donates money and much time over the years to the very program that employees him.

He think I am wrong in telling him to stop telling donors to NOT donate to the program. I would like anybody to tell me a D1 football program that is ok with their employees telling donors not to donate.

And to think some on Evil Mesa are still mad at me for calling this Athletic Dept. employee out. Of course I will bet you $$$ that many that are mad at me for calling that Athletic Dept employee out 3 to 4 years ago have never donated a penny to this cash strapped Division 1 program that I love.

I have passion for this Aztec program Many others do in San Diego also.

The Athletic Department on Montezuma Mesa is making very good progress right now under Jim Sterk in many areas. There are areas that aren't up to par and Jim Sterk and staff are working on those problems. I know because I am on that particular committee on fan experience and have had meetings with him about it.

One of our main topics in one of the last meetings was Athletic Dept. employees respecting booster and donors...in person...on the phone...at all times. I know Jim Sterk agrees with me on this.

Steve I hope your program can become more self sustaining and be another regional power. We in the west need more teams to counter the least coast bias. Fresno St is on the cusp but probably needs to be in a better conference. Too bad their academics are crap.
