It appears that the "Gruden's QB Camp" episode with Goff airs Saturday on ABC at 1 PM. I'm sure that it will be re-run many times.

It was interesting watch Goff and Wentz back to back on the show. I felt that Goff showed better than Wentz from a learning and execution standpoint and would be my pick if it was my decision.

Anyone who passes on Goff is screwing the pooch. His records are based on having 1.5 to 2 seconds to throw. He spent half the time eating turf and yet he proved durable. The most sure thing since Klay Thompson.

... and mental toughness, faster learner, been at the bottom and understands what needs to be done to progress. Watching them back to back show me that Gruden thought Goff is a QB and Wentz is a physical speciman...big diffrence in the 2 shows.

It is clear from watching the show that not all QBs are smart enough to play the position. Goff obviously is.

Best part was the confirmation on our analysis of the Washington play sequence and the Utah/Wazzu stretch/seam-post RPO combo.

Gruden may hate the RPO deal, but it's a damn great way to cheat some chunk yards.

Coach Gruden was clearly taken aback when he asked Goff if he had any contact with Aaron Rodgers and Goff responded, "Zero, don't know the guy." Aaron Rodgers Apologist Community, what say you?

I got a pretty lackluster grunt from AR when I said "Go Bears" to him during the AT&T golf tourney. He was in full golfing mode though, dressed in his UCLA blue outfit.

The wife's favorite NFL team was Seattle, but minus Beastmode: then Green Bay, but after that program, not so much, "Aaron is a Jerk".

Her new favorite NFL team...stay tuned to April 28th.

Goff with poor protection= Good, but shorter, career.

Goff with good protection = Hall of Fame.

Making this story a little stranger, Jordan Rodgers said he has known Goff since he was in high school. (Probably from a QB camp).

I thought Goff's reaction when Gruden was bashing RPO's was telling. Goff seemed to really agree that it isn't a great system, at least not with a QB like him. Good thing for Goff that he is not going to have to worry about those any longer.

Overall I thought Gruden liked him but he is pretty positive about almost everyone who comes through. I'm still waiting for him to fall in love with one of the QBs who come though and take a job coaching them. I thought he may consider it with the Titans job opening up.

What was Gruden's take on RPO's? I can't believe that he'd have a problem with the concept, since it's literally everywhere in college and the NFL at this point. Here's Gruden loving one in his QB camp with Brandon Weeden back in 2012:
Similar deal with Bryce Petty last year:

Saban's had Lane implement them at Alabama. Two years ago Matt Bowen broke down such plays as run by the Eagles, Bears, Bengals, and Packers, I believe. The Steelers and the Patriots use them. This is just where football's going right now, at every single level.

I wouldn't be surprised if some ESPN staffer ripped off the content that you put together on the Post throw to Treggs off of Power from Stacked 2x2 in the UW game, or our discussion of the last INT in the Utah game off of naked stretch action -- and then fed it to Gruden for this episode.

Nonetheless, Gruden was impressed by the audacity of our RPO packages, and the production/gainz tied to them. He was skeptical of the level of protection that each offered though. Still, it was clear that he liked the Post/Seam route conversion off of the naked stretch action deal that we ran -- he picked up on the Wazzu/Utah differences, pointed out how Utah baited Jared completely, and Jared did acknowledge that Kenny converted the post to a Go-Route.

Finally got to see this. The RPO protection issue that he brought up basically only applies if the throw is a post/seam/corner. Those front-side slants were fine and low risk, and are basically what Petty talked about in his Gruden camp. We didn't do a lot of the deeper routes on RPO's in 2013 or 2014, but it allowed for massive production in 2015 when we added them in. I have noticed just in passing that as the season went on we modified our blocking on RPO's to kick out the backside DE, either by having the OT stick on the backside, or by bringing a wing TE across the formation for that backside end. I didn't think much about it before this episode, but that was obviously an adjustment to get more protection, starting around when we played the LA schools. Against OSU we really gameplanned a ton of formations with an in-line TE on the backside of runs, which let us attack what I'd call a 3-3 Bear front very effectively while also accounting for the backside DE. Really interesting stuff.

You should have seen the episode with Connor Cook. Jon Gruden gushed all over Cook and called Cook the best QB in the draft.

Not one of the best. But THE best. Better than Goff, Wentz, or Paxton Lynch.

That was surprising to me, esp given Cook's general inconsistency as a passer w/ a running game & decent protection/weapons.

I think they realize that if anyone perceives that Gruden is hurting a guy's draft stock, that some guys won't go on his show. So he has to be enthusiastic about everyone, so he can get everyone he wants on the show.

I'm currently listening to the following two links to determine if what you report is true.

http://www.annafarisisunqualified.com/2016/04/11/episode-23-olivia-munn-part-one/

http://www.annafarisisunqualified.com/2016/04/12/episode-24-olivia-munn-part-two/

UPDATE: BREAKING NEWS: Olivia Munn refers to Aaron Rodgers' alma mater as "Cal," not UC Berkeley. More news to come as it develops.

UPDATE 2: If you want to listen to the Aaron discussion, skip to the 7:00 mark of the first link. If you start at the beginning, you'll hear a discussion on the bush being back. (Seriously.)
