As a reference point, I believe the UA deal recently signed with Notre Dame was around $9M a year which, at the time, was the richest deal. I think Michigan and Nike just beat that but I'm not certain.

So does this mean we can get rid of the stupid jagged Bear that Nike forced on Cal? I sure hope so.

apparently we still own the rights to the Tree-looking bear, so i think we can do whatever we want with it?

Looks like it. Notre Dame's Deal with UA is $90 mil over 10 years, and Michigan's is $165 million over 15 years

I'm happy that Cal is getting a very very nice chunk of change. But we are all acknowledging that from a market point of view we are less than 40% of Notre Dame?

I'm going to go against the grain here and say this is bittersweet. Happy for Cal and the $$. From a fashion standpoint, this is terrible. UA doesn't have anywhere near the brand appeal of Nike.
Will it affect recruiting? Who knows. But there's a reason why Oregon has 12948209 different uniform combos. We were also one of a handful (gotta be less than 15) of schools that had Jordan brand jerseys in basketball.

Don't believe Nike's hype. UA has become a strong brand by countering Nike's values. Great move by Cal.

I want to know when we will get the new logo redesign finished, and new football uniforms unveiled.
Also, now that we have more control over design process, bring back block C, and the Joe Roth unis.

I wonder if this means another athletics-wide image overhaul (font, logos, etc.) or if the changes will be more piecemeal.

Eh I am annoyed by this, our uniforms in August better look decent, although I have never been too hot about them to begin with going back to the Tedford regime.
