Cool! Does it increase the chances of Steph making guest appearances at our FB or BB games?

I like it. Screw that Ducking Furdie.
Wonder what the new unis will look like...

Best case would be for Beast Mode gear to blow up and enter the equipment space so we can be the first team on it.

As a reference point, I believe the UA deal recently signed with Notre Dame was around $9M a year which, at the time, was the richest deal. I think Michigan and Nike just beat that but I'm not certain.

I want to know when we will get the new logo redesign finished, and new football uniforms unveiled.

Also, now that we have more control over design process, bring back block C, and the Joe Roth unis.

Looks like it. Notre Dame's Deal with UA is $90 mil over 10 years, and Michigan's is $165 million over 15 years

Hey Uncle Phil, F*CK OFF YOU DAMN DUCK.

Seriously, indirectly funding the Penitentiary at Niketown Eugene seemed at cross purposes or un-wise on a common sense level.

Betcha other P12 schools follow, minus Furd, OSU, maybe $C and

The part that got me the most excited:

Cal signed what might be considered the most comprehensive deal in the entire college landscape. By involving the whole campus in negotiations, athletic director Mike Williams was able to offer Under Armour assets that haven't been available in other partnerships.

This deal, for example, will include outfitting the school's 34 official club sport teams in the brand. It will also guarantee a discount on Under Armour's connected fitness bundle, UA HealthBox, to Cal's faculty and student body and make Cal the home for Under Armour's entrepreneurial contest Future Show.

I'm happy that Cal is getting a very very nice chunk of change. But we are all acknowledging that from a market point of view we are less than 40% of Notre Dame?

I'm sure that from a marketing and $ point of view, we're worth far less. Good deal for us.

I wonder if this means another athletics-wide image overhaul (font, logos, etc.) or if the changes will be more piecemeal.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say this is bittersweet. Happy for Cal and the $$. From a fashion standpoint, this is terrible. UA doesn't have anywhere near the brand appeal of Nike.

Will it affect recruiting? Who knows. But there's a reason why Oregon has 12948209 different uniform combos. We were also one of a handful (gotta be less than 15) of schools that had Jordan brand jerseys in basketball.

Don't believe Nike's hype. UA has become a strong brand by countering Nike's values. Great move by Cal.

So what if Oregon has that many? We were so far down the pecking order for Nike that we wouldn't have ever gotten that (or would we have wanted to). Looks like Dykes and the players wanted Roth Uniforms, but didn't get them from Nike. In the end, it feels like we're the youngest child of the least favored concubine of the emperor

ND has an un-godly national following...and the NBC television contract. 40% more for weekly national coverage seems pretty fair.

Usually I don't put too much into market analysis but the TV contract says it all. No other program has that.

the fallacy is that Nike will remain at the top forever.

this is forward-thinking, and has the potential to become greater than what it is at the time we signed. hopefully Cal utilize this well.

I don't ever want to see light blue again, so NO to the Joe Roth uniforms. Joe Kapp was right when he went back to Cal Blue, and it's stayed that way ever since. Don't mess with the colors. Also, no black uniforms, ever.

Eh I am annoyed by this, our uniforms in August better look decent, although I have never been too hot about them to begin with going back to the Tedford regime.

We just did that the last couple of years, but since this is for all apparel besides basketball I think we have to anyway.

Meh, no. I think some needless and fancy design is needed but Nike put too much on style but that is their game. Did Cal need the new stupid jagged Bear that Nike forced on us? Nope, and it's ugly and dumb.

Regardless: I'm 110% okay with this because it doesn't feed the Phil Knight/Oregon money machine. NO one supports a rival if they can help it.

p.s. UA can afford designers and come up with flashy stuff. A couple of special unis each season is more than enough.

No, No, No to the Joe Roth uniforms. Cal Blue is Cal Blue, not another lighter color. Joe Kapp was right when one of the first things he did was to get rid of the Mike White uniforms and go back to the Cal traditional color and uniforms. While we at it, no black uniforms ever.
