Briles versus Leach in the Air Raid battle to end all Air Raid battles.

Boom! Not really surprised. Baylor trying to scapegoat Starr and keep Briles on board. I have to think Baylor was getting a ton of heat about not making Briles accountable. Good riddance!

A good exterminator gets all the vermin. Baylor had to clean house.

This was absolutely the correct decision by the Baylor Administration. AD McCaw should also be shown the door, as should Baylor President Starr.

Listenting to Waco sports radio, apparently AD Ian McCaw has been suspended, after telling Briles he was gone, this is bizarre, how do you let the AD stay on during on all this?

I think may be waiting for new BOR 5-31-16 to sort it all out. Technically BOR can fire Starr and Starr can fire Briles and McCaw.

Good move by Baylor.

None of the SEC schools would have had the balls to do this

Can't do that until Berkeley expands the jail ... need another prosecutor or two ...
have to do what Seattle did to contain all the fuskies players ... hire Asst AD for making bail

Everyone's buddy Ken Starr kicked out of the President's office....

And into the Chancellor's digs.

No crocodile tears, but how can BU hire replacements with no President or AD in place? Good luck recruiting.

Briles is 60 years old. I think he is untouchable as a HC for at least three years, and by then he will be too old for even a desperate second tier school to give his a shot. I think his coaching career is over.

He can always get a gig at uDuh as a consultant ... the place for old HCs who ran out of gas.

There will be helpless college programs interested in Briles, but don't forget about the NFL. HC/Offensive coordinators who have proved their worth elsewhere are always desired by the pro's.

Jerry Jones has likely lobbed a call in to him already.

Baylor didn't fire Starr and Briles because it was the right thing to do. As with the Penn St fiasco, they were fired because of the national media attention and negative publicity. If they wanted to do the right thing they would have kicked those players out of school and turned them into the DAs office in the first place, not enabling the criminals just because they could play. They wanted the money to come in

They didn't even fire Starr. They removed him from being President but he is still Chancellor. That's very telling. Apparently the one thing in Texas more protected than football is conservative politics. They call it a demotion today but in the future if you bring it up the usual people will say the move solely to Chancellor was a promotion because of his positive conduct.

Just heard Coach Dykes mentioned on ESPN as a possibility if they can get him out of Cal. Crap, more to worry about.

Go Bears!
