Wouldn't it be unusual to drink excessive amounts of water during military training exercises (presuming this was the COD)? You usually hear of soldiers dying of dehydration during such activities. Very tragic.

Interestingly, H2O poisoning is actually a greater threat than dehydration because it can lead to sudden death.

I wonder why their initial diagnosis is water poisoning? Any case too early to say conclusively. It reminds me of that horrible water drinking contest on the radio where a woman died shortly after. Terrible terrible tragedies.

If because of water consumption he literally pissed away the sodium needed to maintain good health (and his life), then it might be looked at as water poisoning. Otherwise, the question is why was Parros a victim of hyponatremia?
