Ryan has to do something in the playoffs before he's crowned as elite

He wins the award for "most undeserving nickname". "Matty Ice" for a guy who's done nothing in the post season.

Julio was taken away from him Sunday and he still lead his offense to 42 points. Of course, the Rams aren't making too many teams or players look pedestrian these days.
Exactly. It used to be the strength of the team but at this point it appears the team has no strengths. I had to laugh at the press conference when they promoted their Special Teams coordinator as interim coach, saying that the group was performing well, when the very first play of the game that just happened was a muffed kickoff turning the ball over on the first play of the game...

He had a nice throw at the end but was largely mediocre today.

Lol is hanky a Seahawks fan or just a Butte CC hater? Dude on TV said there is talk AR throws better than any one in the history of the league. Aaron was laying it all out there today with the scrambles and big hits while having a messed up calf.

I hope so but there's too much Brady talk this year.

hanky is a really sad and lazy troll, Rodgers had an MVP caliber game yesterday. It's hard to overcome at least four bad drops on big-time throws, two of them drops in the endzone on perfectly delivered balls. The final pass downfield was a thing of beauty, as was getting the team down the field in time to spike the ball and set up the winning FG.

Rodgers is back on top as the best QB in football. Brady is up there too, but he's had the benefit of being in the best-run football franchise, while the Packers have had their ups and downs.

Rodgers is going to the playoffs for the 8th straight season...Packers clinched before tonight's game....the only time Rodgers didn't make the playoffs was his first season as starter, when Bush was president.

Rodgers' "Cal" is now followed by his RB saying "Leland Stanford Junior University."

That throw by A-rod was insane to score 23. Rolled around all over the left side for 8 seconds then drilled a throw right where it needed to be for the TD...only that guy does that.

Here, for those who missed it.

Rodgers has 40 TDs, leading the NFL this season. (Matt Ryan had 38, Drew Brees had 37.)

Actually, I believe this article from a former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Packers beat writer, which largely sources bitter former TE Jermichael Finley to claim that Rodgers is a terrible leader, fueled Rodgers at the end of the season. This is the article that revealed that Rodgers hadn't spoken to his family in two years.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2676645-can-aaron-rodgers-be-the-type-of-leader-the-packers-need

Two days after this article was published, the Packers lost to the Redskins. After that loss, Rodgers made the "run the table" comment. And the rest is history.

Yeah, it was first highlighted on The Bachelorette. My Aaron Rodgers-biased take: Instead of the family sweeping it under the rug, or saying no comment, they chose to highlight the rift on national TV (while saying they don't want to discuss it).

There's all sorts of speculation. Is Olivia Munn to blame? Is Jordan Rodgers allegedly cheating on Munn's best friend/personal trainer to blame? Has Rodgers become too liberal (golfing with Obama), too not "Christian," too vegan? He talked about shifting his views on Christianity (but not abandoning it) in this (2-hour!!!) podcast with a comedian who barely had any idea who Rodgers was. Listen here: http://nerdist.com/you-made-it-weird-310-aaron-rodgers/

My stupid speculation: Rodgers' brothers always hung on his coattails, and Aaron didn't mind it. But perhaps he got sick of them intertwining their identities with his.

Luke Rodgers had his own NFL-themed clothing line, which used to feature Rodgers. Luke also does some NFL Fantasy work for CBS Sports. He tried to gain some reality fame: .

Jordan Rodgers tried to become a pro QB, and I'm sure Aaron was fine with that. (After all, Aaron would fly to Nashville to watch his brother play.) But he probably wasn't fine with Jordan becoming a reality star based on being "Aaron Rodgers' brother."

(Rodgers' Chico ex-girlfriend's older sister was on The Bachelor in 2 different seasons, by the way.)

All I know is that fame must be a bitch, and I don't blame Olivia Munn one bit. (if you blame her for his struggles, then you have to credit her for him being named MVP 2 years ago, nearly going to the Super Bowl 2 years ago, all those hail marries last year, and for being in the MVP conversation this year.)

It's all good. Much of this forum's content is overreaction.

Im guessing Aaron became increasingly annoyed at being asked about his brother being asked about him. And airing your dirty family laundry on national television is so gross.

It's obvious he didn't read my post on BearInsider until mid November and that's when the light bulb went off and he played better.

So, my best guess is that Matt Ryan will be voted MVP and Elliot will be voted Offensive player of the year. Both are deserving players, but Rodgers should be MVP as he has done more with less.

I'm discounting Brady because of the four games, and because the Patriots went 3-1 without him. Ryan is the other QB in the conversation, and just looking at his passing numbers, they are clearly better. However, if you look at Rodgers' rushing numbers, and what they contributed to his team, I think it gives a more balanced picture. Here's the relevant stats I dug up with rankings where appropriate:

Rodgers
369 yards on 67 carries (2nd on team, 50th overall, 3rd QB)
5.5ypc (2nd out of 8 on team with 10+ att)
22% team rushing yards
4 of 11 team TDs (36%)
25 1st downs (1st on team, 39th overall, 4th QB)
27% team rushing 1st downs

Ryan
117 yards on 35 carries (4th on team)
3.3ypc (4th out of 4 on team w/ 10+ att)
6% team rushing yards
0 of 20 team TDs (0%)
13 1st downs (3rd on team)
12% team rushing 1st downs

Is Ryan's passing advantage over Rodgers big enough to overcome this? I don't believe so. But I don't think voters look at rushing for QBs very much, particularly when the team was so bad rushing. But the fact that Rodgers was so valuable to his team rushing is really borne out by these numbers and, in my opinion, is why he should be the NFL MVP.

What a washed up guy...
