Coaching matters

Wilcox is COTY 3 games in.

Bowers is unflappable.

The Bears believe that they will win no matter what.

I'm a believer in Coach Wilcox and someone who actually cares about defense. Our players may not have the most talent, but damn they fought hard. I don't care if Ole Miss is in a down year. To shut out Ole Miss in the 2nd half is huge.

Great great great job. Very impressive.

Wow. Would not have predicted holding Ole Miss to zero 2nd half points. Great job by the D and the coaches.

With a D like that the Bears sure are! Not going to get too far ahead here, still have to nail down three more wins. But I don't know how far we would have to go to find a Cal team that won all its NCOs and didn't end up with at least six wins. Not certain but very good odds.

Dang! Haven't seen a Cal defense beat up on someone like that since the beat down of Colorado some years back. Mighty SEC got pushed around by a Cal defense. Didn't see that happening. Wow.

What a game. I will be happy if we can win 3 more. I think we'll do better tho. This team deserves to go to a bowl. Small, not super fast. Massive heart and great coaches. This is fun football.

The receivers had a lot of drops, but Noa stood out as he made plays down the stretch.

Hats off to the defense who got it together in the second half and showed us that they will have to be dealt with. This is the 2017 Golden Bear Football Team.

Actually SC squeaking by a suspect Texas team is the best thing for Cal. Much rather face an undefeated team that's a little full of itself than an angry SC team just coming off a loss.

But Furd... lol! Can't believe Wilner called that one. (I guess I did too.) Cal fans can dream a little bigger tonight.
