We got beaten handily last year and I felt bad for JW. I hope the team steps up for some payback this year.

They probably want payback for us ruining their season by taking out there heisman qb for the year.

I'm normally a pessimist (in general as well as with Cal), but I have a funny feeling about this one. There are a number of factors in our favor - solid coaches, solid defense, home game, rested from bye (vs. opponent's OT battle), we play as a team (don't have 1 person/area for opponents to key on).

Yes, I realize Oregon deserves to be favored and is more likely to win. But I think we have a decent chance to surprise everyone and I hope the night atmosphere pumps up our crowd to help inspire our squad - that would be cool.

TL;dr - We have a shot.

Pac-12 after dark...is the reason why the spread is low. Night games give the home team a boast.

Kinda low? Are you kidding? Did you watch them go over 500 yds vs Furd defense? Do we match up with any of their speed, at all? Do we have a first round NFL QB? We gave up big points to Idaho St and lost a starting LBer for the year. This is ridiculously low.

Yeah, Oregon should be favored by at least 10 points.

Lol this is exactly what people were saying about the BYU game.

If you guys are so smart, go ahead and bet the house on this game.

Oh right. You don't bet. Or you don't bet against cal.

If you really think the spread is 7 or more points off, it would be criminal not to bet that game.

We don't match up well against Oregon, they seem to have the kind of productive offense and QB that are hard to shut down. We're not going to win any shootouts until our offense really gels. We match up a lot better against Furd.

Unless of course you live somewhere where gambling on sporting events is illegal. I which case it would be literally criminal to bet that game.

Lol anyone who thinks they have a 7 point advantage on the house and they can't figure out how to make a legal bet in this day and age, then, I promise you, you're dealing with a square and not a sharp

That's why we need to control the ball on offense and move the chains. I think McIlwain running the RPO offense is a good way to do so.

You're doing this lame act again? You should have retired it last year.

We may match up "better" against Stanfurd, but I if they play like they did against the Ducks, we will have a very long day, on defense.

Well let's see.

Gave up 3 points in the first half. Doesn't seem too big to me.

Gave up 6 points due to a Garbers interception (not the defense's fault) and a fourth down pass interference play that would have turned the ball over on downs (that was the defense's fault).

Score grew to 45-9 with 8 minutes left in the game, at which point all the backups came in and gave up the last 2 touchdowns, which were totally irrelevant to the outcome of the game.

Are we really that concerned that our backups gave up those scores? Maybe that's why they're backups. We're not a deep talented team.

Yeah, saw that already. It's nice that he cares. I don't.

Herbert to D Mitchell. Gotta disrupt that 200+ yard per game telepathy they can have while defending Verdell, a dangerous runner. Our ability to lean on our corners/econdary play will be the key to our fate.
