Might be a crowd. Couldn't find anyplace to park on Southside three hours before game time. Even at a meter. (Got disabled plates.). One count 'em, one spot still left on Le Roy on Northside. Oops. Someone just took it.

Being Game Captain doesn't necessarily mean he's starting. If he is, I have two thoughts:
1. I hope he's great.
2. Unless Baldwin is privy to some valuable knowledge and insight, I'd say his capricious decision-making regarding the QBs has now gone off the charts.

You're right - a fourth quarterback to start seems to me like he is desperate and trying anything st this point. Either all the QBs are not that great or he has no idea what he's doing. Either way doesn't bode well. I'm hoping you're right that it doesn't mean chase is starting. I'm in favor of one of Garbers or Mcilwain or both those two getting experience and planning for the future

If the following unlikely series of events occurred, a) CF starts, b) CF doesn't play well, c) the offense is ineffective and d) we lose to UCLA, you could plunk me right into the "New OC Now!" club, and I usually never want to do something rash like that, mid-season.

If he starts and it happens early enough, I am sure they will switch. Last week, McIlwain was Superman in the first half, iffy in the third quarter and then lost it in the 4th. If you knew that was going to happen, you pull him before it happens, otherwise once it happens it is too late. We used to see the same pattern with Nate Longshore (4th quarter meltdowns), but at least in 2007 that was largely due to his fractured ankle and the pattern was so well established it should have been anticipated (bring in a relief pitcher).

Was introduced to him and shook is hand after Sunday Mass at Newman Hall my Senior year in 1976. He lived in a small apartment building on College Avenue adjacent to Newman's parking lot. He seemed like a quiet and nice guy.
