Exactly! We had pistol in the playbook but saved it until the second half? McIlwain is our leading rusher. Having McIlwain as a threat to run opens up the run for Laird and opens up the receivers.
I also like pistol because it gives the RB a head of steam if they get the handoff. The delayed mesh handoff does not allow Laird to get to speed.
