They postponed the announcement to 12:30 due to Air Quality.

I would love to see an announcement that the decision has been postponed until further notice to monitor future conditions... just for the meltdown entertainment value on this board.

I hope that doesn't happen but it wouldn't surprise me. Last year the go no-go decision for the WSU @ Cal game wasn't made until 3:30pm (4 hours before kick off) on the day of the game.

I don't think this is considered private information, but someone on the insider board posted an "alert" from KTVU saying Pac 12 "sources" expect the conference to announce the game is being postponed later today. Take that with the proverbial salt.

Lets see... advanced notice in the 21st century... 12 or 6 day notices for Cal football games are the norm. With that logic and last year's experience, forget getting any meaningful notice today for a little smoke.

If this game happens, KTVU is the new Infowars

The UC Athletics Twitter feed says (yesterday) "We will defer a decision on whether to play the game once we has more data that would reflect conditions on Saturday.".

I suspect we will have more data that will reflect the conditions on Saturday, on Saturday. (Unless they have a really good crystal ball.)

It's possible they asked some pac12 "officials" as in, referees, what they thought. And they expect it to be cancelled. That would be classic.

The last postponed Big Game happened in 1963. If this game is in fact postponed the poster who goes by PostponeBigGameBeforeIDie is crying tears of joy somewhere right now.

The weather reports I've been watching indicate the winds will finally reverse direction tonight (so instead of coming from the NE where the fire is located, they should come from the SW off the ocean). If the winds do reverse tonight that is many hours of a favorable wind for clearing out the smoke.

So they might be discussing whether or not to believe the weather forecast.

Could we get an official freaking announcement? I've got to head to the airport (or not) in 2 hours.

[Enter stage left] Allow me to get on my soapbox for a moment....

[Steps on to Soapboax] Caddyshack is a terrible movie!

Rodney Dangerfield's character is a jerk, Bill Murray's character is sad and pathetic, and with exception to Chevy Chase (who is cool enough) the rest of the cast are a bunch of selfish jerks. Most of all none of them are funny, they are just mean or stupid, which is not funny. Furthermore, the plot of the movie is nonexistent. Caddyshack is a series of sketches strung together with no coherent story line linking them together. In conclusion, if the sketches are more dumb than funny, the characters are all jerks, and the storyline doesn't make sense, why watch it? Perhaps it just aged like an un-refrigerated carton of milk, but to me Caddyshack is by far the most overrated comedy from the 1980's, and I highly recommend everyone to not waste their time watching this terrible movie.
