I find most of these responses to be fairly amateurish though, especially those that inexplicably call for orange juice. I think FuzzyWuzzy is on the right track with a balanced Czech Pilsner with all its bread malt and hop flavor that would match nicely with the elegantly balanced notes of a Cheez-It.

I've had the cheeseburger flavor. I actually kinda like it. It's mainly got garlic/onion powder note and some dill to emulate the pickle aspect of a burger.

IMO Cheez-Its & almost any ice cold beer make for a very enjoyable football snack. Eat enough Cheez-Its and you can skip the after game dinner altogether.

Nice. And I just realized I did try Asiago Cheez-its a while ago, and they were damn good. As in you didn't think you were eating a processed cheese snack. It really did taste like cheese and not "cheez".

Side note, we're going to whip TCU, just because their people don't appreciate Cheez-Its like we do.

Is this some kind of joke? How am I supposed to take seriously any rankings that put the Extra Toasty second to last in the 15th spot while a very average item like the White Cheddar Grooves is 2nd? These people obviously don't understand snacks and they're embarrassing themselves with this kind of analysis. Wouldn't surprise me if they were European. I don't have a subscription to Food and Wine, but if I did, I'd cancel it.

Extra Toasty is obviously higher so they do lose credibility there, but White Cheddar is up there too, IMO. But I don't understand why they don't produce an ETWC flavor, a certain home run. And EXTRA groovy with grooves.

In my bowl prep consisting of eating a lot of Cheez-Its, I stumbled across an advanced-level hack that I thought I'd share with my Cal brethren here. As we know, the typical cheez-it box contains just one flavor, a limitation that Cheez-It Corp. sought to address with their Duoz version which has two flavors. Two is nice but three would be even better and the folks at Cheez-It HQ leave us hanging on this front.

Well, I bought my typical box of Extra Toasty and, to support the game, bought an extra box of Cheddar/Jack and Jalapeno DUOZ. In a stroke of brilliance, I combined those two boxes and, in doing so, got around the Cheez-It limitation of just two varieties per serving. I call them TRIOZ to remain consistent with Cheez-Its DUOZ branding (and they are free to use the name...I am not seeking any compensation for my invention). The beauty of this hack is that I'm getting 50% Extra Toasty content, 25% jalapeno and 25% cheddar jack which is an ideal flavor distribution with a purposeful over-representation of Extra Toasty to serve as the foundational core of this snack. Oh sure, you can make my TRIOZ by buying three boxes but why do in three boxes what can be done in two. After all, this hack is also about efficiency.

I also tried a failed potential hack where I included some Moon Cheese but that idea wasn't a winner as the Moon Cheese flavor profile contrasted a bit too much with the Cheez-It profile. Best to stick to Cheez-Its.

What about doubling up on the duoz for a quadz? We are running out of time and need to get this locked down!!!

Conceptually, I think you're really on to something here. Here's the rub. For some inexplicably moronic reason, the boys at Cheez-It Corp haven't yet integrated the Extra Toasty into the DUOZ portfolio. So, here's what I'm thinking as a potential workaround: Box of cheddar jack/jalapeno DUOZ, box of Extra Toasty and a box of White Cheddar. I think that combo would really play up and can pull off your interesting QUADZ concept, albeit with three boxes. It encompasses a nice balance of complimentary favors and some interesting variety in each handful that I shove into my face.

Dang it. They suckered me! But I don't think they're that kind of company. They realize I'm not the typical customer who can just load up on several boxes to achieve a desired snack result. Plus, I'm fairly price inelastic. Cheez-It HQ is focused more on the mass market Joe Blow cheez-it buyer. And what they're missing is the opportunity to use the DUOZ platform to get new Extra Toasty converts who often become heavier users and have significantly high repeat and retention rates (I'm assuming here). They're missing out on the snacker who says "I didn't realize how much I'd enjoy these Extra Toasty ones and I'm so glad they were part of this DUOZ box or else I never would have tried them. I'm gonnna be eating a lot of these...way more Cheez-Its than before."
