If I was Clemson's QB i'd quit college and wait for 2 years and then declare...no reason to get injured.

Watching freshman Clemson QB and WR shows why it is a joke that NCAA/NFL restrict draft to third year players.

I wonder if that will get challenged again..

How did either of these teams get so good.
Probably a lot of shady dealings going on.
And money...er sorry commitment to winning.

Can't let this pass: Why did Bama, mid-way through the 3rd quarter, go for it on 4th and 4, when they were down by 21. A field goal would bring the deficit to 18, well within three scores, with plenty of time left. Was it hubris, or desperation?

Because Saban knew they couldn't stop the Clemson offense. FGs don't help when you're giving up TDs.

That would just mean we couldn't recruit Elk Grove in addition to DLS. Let Tosh rot far far away.

Tosh is not going to have a pleasant plane ride back to SECland, maybe he should sneak out to his boat.

OK, time to turn off the announcing, because the lauding of the coaches for what wonderful human beings they are is just nauseating.

if Cal had that group, Garbers looks like a top 10 QB. Not #1, but anyone looks good with guys who one hand bad passes.

There was a time when we had arguably the best wr group in the country.

Unfortunately we had one qb on one ankle and another who couldn't get them the ball

But damn before qb1 got hurt, we sure were exciting that year

Alabama's conference schedule is cake, also. They almost never play a true away game against a good team. They play neutral site and home games with an occasional game at a scub teams home stadium. Once in a while they play a real game at a hostile stadium.

They are the Harlem Globetrotters of football.

That's always been my argument. Alabama only plays 9 power 5 teams a season...and their lone ooc Power 5 game is always a neutral site game in the south.

That, and the mid November cupcake makes them healthy and poised for the postseason.

Yet I think the soft schedule helps more than it hurts.

Meanwhile, Clemson played at Texas A&M and their traditional rival South Carolina this season.

Alabama has only played one Ooc regular season road game outside the South under Saban. (2011 At Penn State)

The "Alabama is overrated" argument is really ridiculous. But it does put a fine point on how ridiculously good they've been for almost a decade now. They've raised the bar. Almost no program has ever been as consistently good as they've been.

QB2 that year:
36 of 56 (64.3%) for 563 yds (10.1 yards per attempt) 5 TDs and 1 INT for a 174.6 QB rating.

Riley got the ball to them just fine. The problem was he tried to run at the end of the OSU game and got benched in favor of the one-ankle QB1.

We had great WR depth jjust 2 years ago:
Demetris Robertson
Chad Hansen
Kanawai Noa
Melquise Stoval
Jordan Duncan
Drew Kobayashi
Zion Echols
Vic Wharton Iii
Jordan Veasy
Logan Gamble
Greyson Bankhead
Brandon Singleton
Jack Austin
Bug Rivera
Ray Hudson
Matt Rockett
Plus more....

Agree that they have been a great team through the years with Tina of talent. However we have no idea if that was this year since they played no one out of conference. Their big tests were against 9-3 LSU and Georgia who was beaten badly by Texas. Alabama has no good wins this year - at least, none verifiable.

I do thrinm they are a special team, but at the same time the constant stroking of the SEC means they never have to prove it.
