If a person held Dykes responsible for the defense and hiring Buh, the same applies to Wilcox and Baldwin.
It's entirely logical. Dykes' record was worse than Wilcox's to this point. That's why he was more disliked.
If Wilcox posts more losing seasons the same will happen to him.

and I think you'll see people getting upset with Wilcox this year. But Dykes' offense wasn't even that good - it would put up points after we were down 21. This way at least we are still in games. that's probably another reason. Feels more competitive even if results are similar (i'd argue they're not but i am biased i hated the dykes hire from day 1 so i'll admit that much).
To be fair, it was usually a 60-35 loss....

Because, Wilcox fields a unit that is consistently great: not just great against lower tier teams. Also, while Baldwin's O is never good, it isn't as bad as Dykes defenses (that were bad by a MASSIVE historical margin).
But honestly, it's mostly that we don't have to write off games against nthe top half of the conference before they are played because the Offense suddenly has no ability to score.
We can watch a Cal UW game knowing that it is very unlikely both side of the ball let us down completely. You couldn't say that with Dykes. When faced with above average defenses his offenses folded and he got blown apart.

Both teams combined 1 of 13 on 3rd down conversions. Ball security and our D are keeping us in this one...
Wilcox is a much better coach than Dykes. Yes Dykes had an offense. He also had the #1 pick in the draft for 3 years and we were out many games. We should of kept Spavital and Peeler on Staff. Than we might of been a completely different team. Oh well does not matter now. Wilcox has this team in ballgames.

BB starts the possession after the turnover deep in Huskies territory with a pass play call. Cal's offense took less than a minute of the clock because of the penalties and then punted for 18 years giving the Fuskies another possession. BB is in love with the forward pass even when it's not working.

Yeah our D is as advertised. I'm just worried they're going to tire out by the end of the 3rd with all these 3 and outs on offense
May be on the staff for not recruiting online guys that can play in pac12 but not for lack of execution. Online is not p5 worhty
