Saw JW eating breakfast at Rick and Ann's across from the Claremont Hotel Friday morning. No indication he's practicing calorie restriction.
Humans have been fasting for over 5000 years. It's hardly a "fad".Cal Strong! said:
Cal Strong eat several times a day. Lots of steamed veggies and lean proteins. He also treat himself to smoothies 1-2x / day. Most days he get 1 smoothie. He get second smoothie when he squats +400lbs 3 or more reps. This make Cal Strong hungry for strength, and hungry for smoothies.
This ideal diet. Weak people should follow Cal Strong, not weak fads like fasting.
I remember Sonny saying his favorite meal was "steak, loaded baked potato, MACARONI, and key lime pie." Guess he is more into quinoa and kale now.sycasey said:

Eating frequently promotes the on signal of insulin, IGF1 and mtor. This can lead to growth and strength The tradeoff is lack of repair and recycle(not in the hippie new age sense but in the the cell physiology sense), which enhances illness and aging. A lifetime of eating frequently reduces lifespan. This has been proven definitively in dozens of animal models. It took 100 years to prove that smoking was bad for you. It took 50-75 years to prove that exercise is good for you. This generation will not believe that eating less is good for you. No one wants to eat less. They want to eat more and more frequently and be convinced that it's good for you. The sellers of food are happy that masses won't be convinced otherwise. The medical industrial complex is happy to farm the pathology that eating frequently(especially processed foods) produces. Everyone wins, well except the unwell. But eat away, that spikes dopamine and make you emotionally good.Cal Strong! said:

I don't think our ancestors who survived through famine and disease, without any of our modern day conveniences were weak.Cal Strong! said:People have been weak for a very long time too. Although your statement is true, electron microscopy and synchrotron x-ray analysis of ancient pottery found In parts of Greece and Latin America demonstrate that folks have been drinking smoothies for thousands of years.
People who fast all day WEAK. Strong people who squat 400lbs 3 or more times eat food. Then after they done squatting, they go out for smoothies.burritos said:I don't think our ancestors who survived through famine and disease, without any of our modern day conveniences were weak.Cal Strong! said:People have been weak for a very long time too. True. And spinning around with a full stomach and not wanting to get sick is a good reason as to do this. But you don't have to have a degree in cell physiology to benefit from fasting. Not everyone needs to fast. While it's perceived as kooky, I strongly believe it has huge benefits. Herschel Walker did OMAD so he could have an extra hour to work and study. Did you know he was a valedictorian(Not sure if it was college or high school)?B.A. Bearacus said:
Burritos, in his case, his one meal in the evening regimen was only so that he wouldn't be queasy while training in the mornings and afternoons (per the dizzying scrolling subtitles).

We still don't know if Wilcox does intermittent fasting, but we do know that Terry Crews does:

Wife Strong no think Wilcox looks like a Cal coach. She thinks he looks like a weaker Cal Strong. Or like the actor cast to play a Cal coach in a future Disney adaptation of our 2021 Rose Bowl season.
