Stanford's last play wasn't exactly inspiring to end the half. A downed lineman tracks down a screen pass on a Hail Mary less than 5 yards past the LoS.

Nice to see Remigio stepping up. The absence of Crawford is felt big time - hope we get him back for UCLA.

Duncan is looking okay - Clark still struggling to find his stride but the raw material is there - hope to see him come up big for us in the second half

We would benefit greatly from the D stepping up and causing a couple of havoc plays. 1-2 turnovers caused by the D to end the game would go a long way.

On another note, Slovis is blowing up the stat sheet again.

322 yards; 3 TD; 0 INT just out of halftime break.

Glass is half full...they had one good play thanks to us blowing a coverage. We've had the better of it in the first half. Make the FG and don't blow coverage and it's a 13-3 game.

We have given up the most sacks in the conference. You can blame that on the Baldwin all you want, but it mostly lies within blocking, and QB/WR play, which we all know is sub-par.

Weaver and Co need a few sacks and a turnover to win this game. If ever you are going to play like mad dogs, this is the half. The program needs this win!

On a side note:

Rice (1-9) is beating North Texas 20-0.

So our kicker has a FG and extra point that are blocked and hit a helmet in the last game. So this game he hits a 50 yarder, but then he and the holder set up 7 yards back....Only the announcers notice....Yup, blocked...

Before I understood quality of opponent, beating a team with no wins was a great day.

Then I grew up a little, started understandind quality of opponent, and judging our play against their body of work.

We should be blanking them, except our D is playing bend and break. Against a very poor Stanfurd Offense.

Our offense is playing normally (bad with inexplicable flashes of not bad) and has 10 against a horrendously terrible Furd D.

Aside from Cal being Cal and always playing like trash when Furd is the opponent, Cal should be up by 24-0 at this point and coasting to a win. Instead it's 10-10.

If one can't recognize that, they are stuck in the phase of fandom where being tied with a garbage team and a great team is equivalent, and that's a great place to be mentally. I wish I was still there. A win is a win.

So Nisich is in there. Have we lost another OL or is he just spelling someone for a few plays?
