Hey Bear Insiders,

WHAT. A. WIN. The axe is back in Berkeley. Our Bears are going bowling. Now let's make the Rose Bowl Bear Territory.

Join your Cal Family this weekend at the official Cal Alumni Tailgate before the Cal vs. UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. Athletic Director Jim Knowlton will be present, as well as a few other special guests from the university.

Our tailgate, located adjacent to the Rose Bowl, will feature a delicious meal and open bar. Beer, wine and well drinks included for those 21 and over.

Date: Saturday, November 30

Time: 3:30 p.m., Kickoff is 7:30 p.m

Location: Brookside Golf Club, 1133 Rosemont Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91103

Cost: $65 Adults and $40 Children + processing fee. Buy your tickets now! 

Note: Game ticket and parking not included. To buy tickets in the official Cal section at the Rose Bowl, contact the Cal Athletic Ticket Office at 800-GO-BEARS. Cal students with Gold Standard student tickets to the game eat and drink for free.

On behalf of the Cal Alumni Club of LA and President Gerald Nicdao, we invite all of you to come in from the rain and belly up to the open bar in Brookside before the Bears battle the Bruins.

Thanks to the generosity of SebastaBear the event is free to all of the Cal student ticket holders!

We hope that all of you can join us to celebrate the Bears' Big Game victory, bowl eligibility, and the open bar!

You all are too kind. But Fyght is the one doing the really hard part to make this all happen. I'm just along for the ride. Hoping for a good student turnout.

Thanks again to SebastaBear for his contribution to a great gathering of the Cal faithful. I can't express my joy in seeing our wonderful student spirit groups performing (and eating!) in a room full of happy alums.

As a wonderful surprise, Mike Pawlawski came and intro'd AD Jim Knowlton. Jim works so hard, it was great seeing him beaming with pride at the rollicking crowd. We are deeply appreciative of Matt Honerkamp from Cal Athletics Development office for his hard work pulling this together on the Athletics side.

The Straw Hat Band was there in numbers, as were the dance and cheer squads. The MicMen and Rally Comm also represented. And of course, Oski was a big hit. Thanks to our wonderful students for bringing so much joy to the Old Blues.

Thanks to Club President Gerald Nicdao, and our board for all of the diligent planning and hard work, making this all look easy. Special thanks to the volunteers (including a certain breakout American Idol Star) who braved the rain, checking-in, tagging and banding the Tailgate-goers.

Last, but not least, thank you to all the Old Blues who supported the tailgate and brought such fervent Cal spirit to the event. Thank you for you patience, your forbearance and your revelry. Seeing your happy, smiling faces made it all worthwhile.
