I've also watched some of National Parks and Jazz but am now starting to watch them all in total, starting with National Parks, largely because I'm on a quest to visit them all. I only have 5 of the 8 in Alaska left, with 53 visited so far.

The national parks in Alaska I've been to are the most accessible ones: Denali, Kenai Fjords and Wrangel-St. Elias. The ones I've yet to visit are Glacier Bay, Lake Clark, Katmai, Gates of the Arctic and Kobuk Valley. Four of them are only accessible by sea plane and one by a long ferry from Juneau, so they're expensive and time-consuming to get to but I'll get there in the next few years, I'm sure.
I've completed my visiting all 50 states and seeing a game in every major league ballpark goals so once I finish with my national parks checklist, I'm sure I'll be looking for more adventures.joe amos yaks said:MoragaBear said:Half of those aren't national parks. The National Preserves and Wildlife Refuges are very primitive and special. That's why they're "preserves". Great for photographers. Part of the pleasure is getting there. The Brooks Range is most impressive.
Take a bush flight out of Fairbanks to many of these places. Check out Coyote Air.
If you've never seen Polar Bears in their native habitat you've got to get to the Beaufort Sea ... Kaktovik, etc.

"New Tricks" is a dramedy, a clever combination of drama and comedy. There's also the very long running "Midsomer Murders." You'll never look at those charming English villages the same way again.

Vera is another terrific show. She's frumpy and grumpy, (sounds like a British comedy team), but smart and compassionate.
Prime Suspect is superb, gritty and dark.
For comedy, I wish The Two Ronnies was available for streaming other than snippets on YouTube. Absolute geniuses.
We also enjoy British travel shows. Two we like are "Vintage Roads Great &Small" and "Walking Through History." The first stars Peter Davison and Christopher Timothy from "All Creatures Great and Small." The second is by Tony Robinson. Fans of "Black Adder," will recognize him.
