At the women's game today, they announced there would be 1,000 free tickets for walkups tomorrow. The game is at 3:00 so bring everyone you know.

Cal women beat Saint Mary's 73 - 55.

My guess is a nominal amount as Cal did not wantbto giveaway tickets. There was no advance notice so not sure how many were claimed.

I am skeptical of whether he bought the tickets or was essentially gifted the tickets in order to create a narrative.

Couldn't have been many claimed, as the total attendance for the game was only about 900.

BTW, there is nothing wrong with giving tickets away.

Cal should always do that given our attendance figures.

It was the official calbears.com website which announced this. If they say Fox purchased the tickets, why not believe that? Would you accuse them (Cal) of lying? For what purpose would they create a false narrative? And if you feel this way, why do you follow an athletic program which you feel is not trustworthy?

I am absolutely not accusing anyone of lying. If they say he bought the tickets then he did.

However, what I am questioning is if he paid face value for said tickets. Probably not. I wouldn't expect him to either.

Therefore, how much of this was his generosity and how much was a publicity stunt?

I have nothing against publicity stunts, but I'd like to know the truth here, because it is much more impressive if he dug deep to do this.

Honestly, does it really matter? With all the lies coming out of Congress and Social Media this issue needs to be taken off the list.
