This is where, instead of wishing for a new AD, we instead get the university to outsource the management of the revenue sports to an alumni/donor driven not-for-profit organization lead by a professional sports manager. This organization would replace the Learfield contract, restore Cal traditions, manage media contracts and ticket sales, choose the coaches and pay the bulk of the coaching salaries AND pay the players. The profits would be donated to the AD and/or the university.

Donations would be treated as "shares" in the vote for BODs and on any issue put to the shareholders for a vote, with some votes being one shareholder one vote.

I was mad about this report in small part because I thought there was no way we'd lose to UCSD. Checked the score a bit ago and it was 9-25, UCSD. Hilarious.

Should be on the surface of the sun, but he wasn't fired last year after losing to UCSD at home, and the year before he lost a Cal record 17 PAC-12 games and got an extension.

I guess I won't really consider it good until we fire Knowlton and replace him with an AD who is qualified to lead a P5 program with a mandate to fix the revenue sports.

Because he was told to do so by Tien. Tien felt that no coach should be the highest paid employee. He dictated the end of Snyder's tenure. Bockrath was just the messenger.

Ding ding ding. JK is an absolute failure as an AD.

1) Teri McKeever situation and the sh*tshow that brought (accusations that the AD did NOTHING when students complained to him)

2) His incompetence in handling the covid situation and looking like a clueless dog at the press conference about the team having to sit out --- leading to the leaked audio tape of Wilcox asking "what else do we need to do?"

3) The absurd extension he gave to Wilcox with the fully guaranteed buyout for a coach who HAS NOT WON MORE THAN 500 IN THE P12.

When Campanelli had his 9-20 year in his third year ( a year when literally a member of the Straw Hat Band joined the team!) , there was hope there based on new players and players to return the next season - and the following season (88-89) Cal was 20-13. (I think that 88-89 was the season Campanelli had Gary Colson in to run the offense)

I don't have the same sense of hope for next year without a coaching change.
