We have a chance at zero OOC wins. How special would that be?

Don't believe we've ever even been 0 & 5.

If we had won tonight, I'd fully tune out though. Seeing if Fox can go winless is the only remotely interesting part of his tenure here.

Never. And I don't think a power conference team has been since there were power conferences. This was EWU's first road win of the season.

Correction: Holmoe's last team started out 0-10, before beating Rutgers in their last game.

What Cal luck to have our best player out in the one game we could have won. Luckily askew will be back for the sure losses.

Tied 'em in rebounds and steals and beat 'em in assists! Really, I think they should award this game to the Golden Bears.

Eagles coach just might get fired on the tarmac. Poor guy, only about 29 and probably not even making six figures, but his team barely beat Cal. Time for a change up there...

I agree. Gonna keep track. Fox owns this.

This shows Wyking's 16 consecutive whiffs in 2018/2019 season:

Cal would have won if not for (covid?)! Give Fox another extension.

That's cheating because didn't Wyking get the -16 dominos in a single season?

15 of Wyking's 16 were the 15 PAC-12 losses before beating a ranked UW team. In the preseason Wyking beat Hampton, Santa Clara, San Diego State, Cal Poly, and San Jose State, all teams this Fox team would easily lose to.

We next play Butler and Santa Clara, so likely 0-12 before we get our last realistic chance at a win against UT Arlington, who is bad, but better than the EWU, Southern, Texas State and UC San Diego teams we have already lost to.

Then we hit the PAC-12 schedule.

This team almost took EW to overtime without Askew. Forget Firefox, this effort is enough for a one year extension!

I was at the game, REALLY didn't like the way Fox communicated to the team.

This game was truly awful, as Cal had no offensive flow and continued its horrendous shooting. Got to give the team props, however, for playing hard and not giving up, in spite of playing without their best player and only having 8 scholarship players available. This team is not good with Askew playing; without him, there is absolutely no hope.

Incredibly blessed that I had a meeting to go to that prevented me from attending. Well, I technically could've caught half the game, but I decided the meeting was probably more fun

I just returned from a thing with the daughter and checked the box score. Jesus, I didn't really think we could lose to Eastern Washington. Holy ****. Just wow.

Has there ever been a single topic as unifying on this board as the belief that Fox should be fired? I've never seen anything like it. He is bringing our community together.

I would not be surprised if theButler game is cancelled. Dont the players all live in one house? Covid symptoms may show up. I hope all the players got their booster shots.

Oh please no. This pathetic administration will start pumping the Covid excuse factory in full effect again and we'll be stuck with Fox for the next decade.

8 players is enough depending on the mix

We have two legit big. Everyone else are wings/guards

When Lars sat we played a wing because okofor was out, who is a solid rebounder

We did poorly on the boards. He would have helped in that regard

At guard, we were down to 2 guards. With Askew out we were down to 1 so played a walk on who joined the team 3 weeks ago

Not a rule, but IMHO you need 4 legit guards to play: 3 on the court and 1 subbing in. All 4 able to take care of the ball, pass, and shoot. If 1 or 2 are big enough to be called wings that's a plus.

Corner of Durant and Telegraph late at night because that adds gunfire to the ambience.
For me, it was Dana and Channing, about 12 AM, 5 years ago. I heard the gun shot, spun around, and watched a guy drop to the pavement. That was the last time I partied in Berkeley.

And I'd suspect this kind of thing is not a good look for recruiting young athletes to Cal.

40 years ago I was robbed gunpoint a block from the Rockridge Safeway in North Oakland. Pretty nice neighborhood at the time and not that late. I don't think it's just a matter of where or when, any time and place you find a party you could also find trouble.

I wouldn't expect to beat Zona with what we had. For EWU, I'd expect coach to be able to go to RSF for 5 minutes, point at 8 guys, and hit garbage time with 10 minutes left.

People v. Beaudreaux, No. A126140 | Casetext Search + Citator

https://casetext.com/case/people-v-beaudreaux-4

PEOPLE VS JUCARI ANDERSON JUL 11, 2022

On July 7, 2022, a jury found defendant Jucari Anderson guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm for the shooting of an innocent bystander in Berkeley.

On November 10, 2019 at 2:36 A.M., the defendant fired eight rounds from an Sig Sauer pistol towards the intersection of Durant and Telegraph avenues after initiating a verbal confrontation with a group of individuals. The victim, an innocent bystander who was not involved in the conflict at all, was struck multiple times in the legs as he was walking back to his vehicle. Video surveillance showed other innocent bystanders frantically fleeing the scene to seek safety at the time of the shooting. The victim suffered a fractured femur in one leg and a shattered kneecap in the other. The victim fortunately survived his injuries.

Let him stay the year and get the bagel in the win column. Will make the story about our next coach leading us to the NCAA Tournament in 2024 even more incredible for the national media.

The crime rate on campus is much better now than when I was in high school in the Bay Area suburbs and back then Southside, Berkeley was THE place for people from my school to go on weekends. My kids see Telegraph Ave as a plus. There is a vitality there that you don't get in a lot of places. Yes, as with any urban environment, there is some bad that goes along with the good. I'd suggest you check out some of the areas in SF where young people go clubbing and consider whether you think Southside is "not a good look for recruiting young athletes". Urban areas come with more of everything, and young people tend to like more. For instance, a lot of fogies on this board think Westwood is "so nice". I find it mind numbingly boring. If I were a coach, I would much rather try to sell an 18 year old on Berkeley (maybe not so much the parents).

There are a lot of things hurting us in recruiting, but the environs around campus on the whole is not one of them.

15 years ago my daughters and their friends used to ride BART up from Fremont to hang out around Telegraph because it was cool, fun and exciting. 10 years ago my daughter attended Berkeley City College on Center in Downtown Berkeley for the same reasons. The other place they loved to hang out was the Mission in SF, much safer than it used to be but not if you watch Fox News or Newsmax.
