I think denying a person the $1 first month promotion because they were a subscriber 10 years ago is short sighted. Also what is the business card promotional i have asked and never received a reply.

During the information embargo of the Fox era, there was some truth to this. In the last couple months, that's far from accurate.bearchamp said:

Appreciate the feedback. I noticed you just renewed for the first time in 4 years three days ago. Would love to hear what you're missing or not seeing. One suggestion is to spend some time digging into threads started by the mods. In the past few weeks, there's been a lot of good info on basketball. Send me a DM!bearchamp said:

I interpreted his post as saying he wasn't finding specific names on who had or would be hired as coach, which was the subject of this thread. There was good reason you had not shared those names, but that does not mean there wasn't relevant information about the coaching staff hires. There was plenty.

Also, NIL has changed everything. Now I'm VERY interested in what the larger donors posting on the premium board have to say. It's their money that will be paying for our best players.

Check out Faraudo on SL.com today. Asst. Coach hire #2 is in the books. Matt Scherbenski, Director of Recruiting at Texas Tech. Fardaws is happy, per Faraudo. So Fardaws has played for Madsen, and apparently has a good relationship with Scherbenski.
Source: Cal's Mark Madsen will hire Matt Scherbenske as an assistant coach. Scherbenske was on staff at Texas Tech last season.

Oh yes. I did see that. It offered us non subscribers a tease that Mark's staff was "nearing completion", but nothing concrete in terms of names, but yes, I get it.
This is the type of staff Madsen needed at a tough job like Cal. Guys who have recruited at a high level, recruited academic kids, and who have won. Strong first moves by the former Stanford star and Utah Valley HC.

Then there's a disconnect I'm not sure can be bridged because there's been a ton more information there since Fox was fired regarding the hiring process, the coaches, recruiting, NIL efforts and more.bearchamp said:

In these times I consider Premium worth the small cost. Wish they had more on WBB though.

Look at the assistants' article. Several names "coming up lately" are mentioned. But coming up from where? Who is mentioning these names? Is the information just standard brands internet rumor? I don't count that as "information". If, for instance, the report was that Madsen had mentioned these names, that would be information. Unverified and unattributed statements simply are not information.
The names in that article, based on the subsequent reporting, are in fact people who were hired. I assume that the article you mentioned had information in it from sources the reporters were certain was accurate, but had promised confidentiality. I would assume that's why they put it in an article, rather than in a staff post where they also would have indicated the information was just informed speculation. That's also why they initially limited that article, I believe, to the premium board, to provide value for subscribers.
Are looking at Haas Pavilion or Bear Insider. The premium basketball content has been in Haas Pavillion.bearchamp said:
