…all together that was one of the best basketball games I've ever seen, and the crowd played a big part in that. ABC should send Sacramento a check.
Good call!
I have watched every W's game for the past 3 seasons and I think that was the best W's game of this year at least.
The pace and intensity were so much higher. And ultimately I think that's why the kings won - I remarked in text that the kings had more energy in the 4th and I'm not sure if it's because of age or because of bench depth, but either way they deserved to win.
Fox was amazing at getting his shot, and on that one play made Klay looked like he was a knee and Achilles repair surgery patient. Quick like Morant last year.
W's have looked crappy all season and so I had picked kings to win based just on that. W's don't deserve to advance. Yet, they surprised me (happily) for much of the game.
Splash triplets hit some impressive 3's and there was some very tough D inside by Looney and Draymond. Even Wiggins re-appeared and played very well. Still, W's got outboarded to no surprise and by the end the kings were coming and the W's were struggling for responses.
Should be a great series no matter what. If the teams battle thru 7 it's an awesome friendly NorCal rivalry.
If the kings dust the dubs, it's a transition point for both squads.
In the dubs sweep back, they show who are the real kings and their journey goes on.
As a sac area resident now whose wife does work with the kings, I am happy for them, but the city still has soooooo far to go to match SF and Chase. I have no idea how Sac folks were able to boost ticket prices up the way they did. The Bay has so much over on top of Sac! (Except traffic, land, and more reasonable home prices, which is why I'm there.)
Looking forward to Monday night! I'm still picking the kings, and I think this marks the beginning of the end for our heroes. Father Time is undefeated.
If only they had drafted the guy I really didn't want them to, lamelo ball. Wiseman was a complete waste, and you almost never get #2 picks without a complete tank and rebuild. Sigh.
Elsewhere in the west, I look forward to seeing the Suns vs the Nuggets for conference supremacy. Lots of good storylines this postseason.
