My wife's grandma became a Kings fan around 2006 and religiously watched them never make the playoffs for the next 17 years. She died just before the season started, and now that she's no longer with us, they break the drought. Gotta root for Sactown!

My son just texted this reflection to me:

"Wiggins is gonna win this series if he keeps playing like this."

Two warriors who you want to shoot it got their chance

Wiggins with a wide open shot

Curry had to take an unorthodox shot but he can hit those, and warriors were fortunate to have a clean look

W's been giving up scores in the 120's and 130's all year. That's gotta change, if they're going to advance very far. Kings go up 1-0, despite Sabonis having a sub-par game.

Wiggins looked pretty solid this evening, considering he hadn't played in two months.

As a Kings fan who has missed out on a lot of action this year as almost zero games were nationally televised, last night was phenomenal. Also, shooting is like breathing for Curry. He's unbelievable. Warriors gave it their best last night. They played harder than the Kings. Sabonis was a disappointment and honestly at the end, the Kings got a little luck. Officiating was pretty fair overall. Felt like the dubs got a few extra calls, but all together that was one of the best basketball games I've ever seen, and the crowd played a big part in that. ABC should send Sacramento a check.

Kings are happy to run with the Warriors and Fox and Monk ran amock- Wiggins was even on Fox at the end. Great game and a fantastic atmosphere

Good call!
I have watched every W's game for the past 3 seasons and I think that was the best W's game of this year at least.
The pace and intensity were so much higher. And ultimately I think that's why the kings won - I remarked in text that the kings had more energy in the 4th and I'm not sure if it's because of age or because of bench depth, but either way they deserved to win.

Fox was amazing at getting his shot, and on that one play made Klay looked like he was a knee and Achilles repair surgery patient. Quick like Morant last year.

W's have looked crappy all season and so I had picked kings to win based just on that. W's don't deserve to advance. Yet, they surprised me (happily) for much of the game.

Splash triplets hit some impressive 3's and there was some very tough D inside by Looney and Draymond. Even Wiggins re-appeared and played very well. Still, W's got outboarded to no surprise and by the end the kings were coming and the W's were struggling for responses.

Should be a great series no matter what. If the teams battle thru 7 it's an awesome friendly NorCal rivalry.
If the kings dust the dubs, it's a transition point for both squads.
In the dubs sweep back, they show who are the real kings and their journey goes on.

As a sac area resident now whose wife does work with the kings, I am happy for them, but the city still has soooooo far to go to match SF and Chase. I have no idea how Sac folks were able to boost ticket prices up the way they did. The Bay has so much over on top of Sac! (Except traffic, land, and more reasonable home prices, which is why I'm there.)

Looking forward to Monday night! I'm still picking the kings, and I think this marks the beginning of the end for our heroes. Father Time is undefeated.

If only they had drafted the guy I really didn't want them to, lamelo ball. Wiseman was a complete waste, and you almost never get #2 picks without a complete tank and rebuild. Sigh.

Elsewhere in the west, I look forward to seeing the Suns vs the Nuggets for conference supremacy. Lots of good storylines this postseason.

Sabonis WILL not be as poor, and that's going to be the difference in coming games.

3 cheers for grandma! How many years did she make it?
I gotta say I respect her for following them thru that era. Nothing I could get behind.

I went to a game 7 years ago and some yokel kept clanging this damn cowbell in my ear. I was like, seriously? It's a f*ing free throw!
Thought bubble: "Uh, security? Can I change seats please? I came to watch some high quality athletes play basketball."
I laughed as our regional midgets tried to put on a show and all the mini-me's in the crowd got so excited - for losing!

But last night was Legit! On the court and in the stands! Good for them! Er uh, us. I guess I'm one of you, now?

This is probably your weakest take ever. And anyone who has been to Oracle/Oakland Arena vs Chase acknowledges that Chase is soulless and boring in comparison, just like it's location in between medical buildings

Fair enough! I accept your point.
I never attended W's in either place. Well, at least not in past 10 years. So, fair enough.
I go for the on-court action, not the crowd scene - and I know that the energy of the crowd affects the court action AND that lots of people like attending games and concerts for the collective vibe.

My rip on Sac was that the city is still a relative dumpy pump squeak! I don't care about the hospital UC location. I'm not looking for bars after a game.

Anyways, sorry to disappoint you, and I accept your critical response. No problem.

Wiggins was excellent for sure off that long layoff. But he was 1 for 8 from three and missed the final one that could have won the game. I think he'll get better and stronger as the series goes on.

Guy across the street has those on his head.
I had never seen before and he explained it's like those huge zits people get on their back.
So he needs to go in and have them removed. He already has, came back.

Warriors fans hate when Poole plays in the 4th. He's a turnover machine. Probably addition by subtraction

Dr. Pimple Popper? I suspect that is a fetish. If the patient pays double, the procedure is conducted in leather and heels.

I'm posting this right now through my "0-1" lens, but it seems like we're too small to go very far. And that's coming from a guy who usually thinks size is overrated in basketball.

Of the four guys we played at the 3 and the 4 from game one, we go 6-6, 6-7, 6-7, 6-9.

- I get it, we more than compensate for that when we unleash a barrage of three-point shots.
- I get it, Looney, Wiggins and, especially Greene are good defenders and rebounders... and Kuminga is emerging.
- I get it, James Wiseman wasn't ready to contribute to this team, at this level.

Still... hopefully tonight's game will help me off the ledge.

if Poole is out it's not good

a key sac strategy is to run run run, and see if they can wear golden state down in the 4th

Poole at least provides depth, and also fire power when Steph is on the bench

Tonight looks like 5 on 7 for the kings. Heavy money going on the Ws. Now a 2.5 point favorite. Watch for lots of questionable calls to ensure the warriors eke it out. Will be a miracle if the kings pull it off.
