When you look at our scores this season we are a hard out for teams. Despite not playing well in all phases of the game we only have to push a little more and those close losses will turn into close wins.
Aimaq is 25 years old and playing in his fifth college season. I doubt his game is going to change much at this point. I could be wrong, though.bearsandgiants said:.CALiforniALUM said:

Our opponents only have to push a little more and our close losses turn into big ones, too. We can't keep missing free throws. I have yet to watch this recorded game but reading through the comments it seems like a lot of the same mistakes continued in the second half'. We also got bailed out on two non calls, looking at the highlights. One of Tyson's dunks enjoyed the benefit of a moving pick and we also didn't get whistles on a clear foul against a buff who made a fade away jumper. Seems like we only were able to mount a comeback because aimaq was on the bench in foul trouble. For his total rebounds, the amount of soft, failures to secure the ball and difficulty guarding big men more than cancel out the attributes. He has to improve his game. We can't double team our biggest opponents. We have enough trouble guarding the opponent when playing man to man, which Madsen publicly made clear he is sticking with, effectively telling rod benson to shut up about playing zone. We'll see how they do from here, but we can't count on one guy to bail out this team, and we can't count on luck like Colorado missing a wide open three in the closing moment. This team needs to play a complete game before I'll be sold. Very happy for the win, and the heart, though.

I forgot how explosive Jaylen Brown was.
I was at every game in Haas that year. The best way to describe it was that he had at least one or two moments every game that made everyone in the arena just go "oh ****". It was just different in person, like you could feel the explosiveness the same way that with great baseball hitters you can just hear the crack of the bat different than anyone else. I imagine Tyson's game-sealing dunk last night had that same air of awe and explosiveness much more than on tv (even though it was already amazing enough)bear2034 said:

I'm still going with Roy Fisher against Villanova.ducky23 said:
The correct answer for best cal dunk ever is Randy duck
Second best was Monty buckley's against Arizona
Little KJ Roberts did a windmill dunk when nobody thought he could reach the rim. Insane reaction from the crowd.RedlessWardrobe said:I'm still going with Roy Fisher against Villanova.ducky23 said:

Cone wasn't moving on that screen. He was pushing the Buffalo up and away like any good offensive lineman who is giving away a foot in height and 75 pounds.GMP said:
For example. Yes, Cone committed a moving screen on the second Tyson dunk. But before that, Tyson was pushed on the first dunk and no call was made. Cone was also clearly hit on the arm on his big 3 pointer. Both should have been And 1s. And that's just off the top of my head.

There were calls and non-calls that went both ways… for example calling foul on Larson for a Williams and-one in the last minute. Absolutely ridiculous. Another bad call was on Celestine defending their center. For such a big strong guy he sure crashes to the ground a lot from minor contact from a player 60 pounds lighter. But Cal benefited by the quick 5 second call.
Oh, and there's this:
"Cal's Jaylon Tyson: Went 8-for-8 in the second half with 23 of his career-high 30 points. Tyson also was 7-for-7 on free throws."bearsandgiants said:.CALiforniALUM said:
