Cal singed 7' F/C from Georgia State who has three years of eligibility. Don't know much about him other than he was a three-star player coming out of high school and played in 9 games last year at Georgia State.

Not even his name? Starting a thread without a name or a link is not only irresponsible, but it shows an incredible amount of contempt for the player and anyone who reads your post.

CalBears.com: Golden Bears Add Dhiaukuei Manyiel Dut

Dhiaukuei "DK" Manyiel Dut, a 7-foot-0 forward from Rumbek, South Sudan, has signed to play for the California men's basketball program in the 2025-26 season. Dut spent the past two seasons at Georgia State, including a redshirt year in 2023-24, and will have three years of eligibility upon arriving in Berkeley.

South Sudan is a separate country, but aside from that, DK does appear to be a good student. According to his Georgia State bio, he was valedictorian of his high school class in the Metro Atlanta area, and made the President's List for each semester of college so far.

DK is already on Cal's 2025-26 roster page, and there's a bio.

Sports Reference has his stats from the 9 games he played at GSU last season.

There's a recent YouTube account in DK's name, and it includes one video of practice footage from last season.

I love that this post came from a poster named Brevity. I mean there is brevity and there is being disrespectful, don't confuse the two. Well done

Wow looks like he has good hands and can shoot a little.

Also quick and can run the floor. His ceiling looks pretty high.

Almost all big guys are projects, and with the transfer portal Cal can't be sure that they'll be the ones who realize the benefit from investing two years in the player's development. But the kid looks pretty athletic, gives Dort a taller guy to practice against, and seems to have the academic chops to do well at Cal. So, put me down for "cautiously optimistic". I will say that I sure hope he has a nickname!

I want to see the kid succeed just like every other guy on the roster.
But if we're being honest what we need in the 14th and 15th roster spots are scorers with a shooting touch, not the fourth-string big man who may or may not see the box score next year.
This is really Madsen's last shot to get a .500 team before the fans turn on him (50% in this Forum already have), so come on Mad Dog, make the last transfer recruit count.

I think that one thing we can agree on is that Sissoko was underutilized in the offense for the first, what, 2/3 of the season? He'd take and make an infrequent jump hook and I'd think, "Hmmph! Why doesn't Madsen get him five or six of those shots a game?". So, my point is, let's see if this new 7-footer can play. There are plenty of minutes for both Dort and him and get them both the ball to see if they can have an impact.
