I don't know how they did it, but Fox Sports 1 is far worse than the old Fox Sports Net in terms of picture quality and overall broadcast appeal. I guess the P12 network picked up some of the old announcers?

They also rarely identified who the foul was one when the refs called one. Horrible job of announcing.

Absolutely the worst announcing job I've ever heard. Fox should can their asses for being unable to recognize that there was another (better) basketball team on the court. Inexcuseable performance by the broadcast LSJU rooting section.

2. Or the fact that they provided no information or insights into what was happening in the game.

Well said. Counting on Okaydo to enlighten us on how to contact the Fox Sports "braintrust".

C'mon guys, Collins was great! Besides noting Cal had an eight point lead when the score showed them up by six, he said Wallace's 18 points at half time had him on pace for 27. Oh the value of a Stanfurd degree!

He can do every Cal game for all I care if the Bears keep winning.

At one point, he refered to his alma mater as the Cardinals...yes, plural (not possessive). I kid you not. I have the game taped to watch again and will happily provide the time stamp to Fox.:hammer:

Jarron Collins is an unabashed homer who couldn't stop talking about Stanford. OK, he did play there and isn't really a professional announcer. But Aaron Goldsmith did nothing to steer him back to the game at hand. In fact, he often contributed more comments about how the Stanford team was doing and asked leading questions to get more Stanford talk out of Collins.
It would be interesting to count the minutes spent discussing and praising Stanford vs. Cal. Sort of like time of possession in Football. I'm sure it wasn't really even close. Really painful and amateur work.
Oh yeah, Cal played tough and deserved to win the game in case you somehow couldn't see the game and only heard the announcers.

I'm not sure why this is so offensive. Likely he hangs out with lots of people in the gay community, and so it's probably a little joke among his gay friends (that of the twins, he is the straight one). I bet he supports and is friends with more gay people than the average person. I doubt he's wearing that shirt to show everyone how straight he really is. That said, I have no idea why I am defending Jarron Collins.

Having an older gay brother I can perhaps understand the sentiment to separate one's sexuality from a sibling, but to actually purchase (let alone, likely have custom made) and pose for pictures while wearing such a T-shirt shows how tone-deaf $notfurdites really are.

I used to think that early Don McLean was the worst example of douchebag announcing I had ever heard, but this dork takes the cake. Actually, despite his still raging fUCLA boner, McLean has rounded into a pretty good announcer.

Marques Johnson is like Vin Scully next to those guys last night.

Hated his announcing but in his possible defense...that lettering looks photoshopped, they even look crooked on the shirt.

I can't say that I've heard one west coast analyst that's worth a damn . Collins , Johnson, Walton and even the lesser known are terrible .

I recall the gay one was looking to get a new NBA contract when he announced in the offseason, and thinking that the straight one was still in the league, I thought fox did a good pr move, also good for Collins, by hiring the gay one - as he wasn't likely to get another NBA contract. But now you say the announcer is the straight one? I thought he was still playing? If not, what's the gay one doing these days? (disclaimer: not bashing, just using terminology from the shirt.)

As for the announcing, I missed the game (let me know if there is a link for replay) but did catch Collins earlier this year. I thought he did okay for a first timer and am willing to grant him significant slack for a game at his former home court. Hard to stay unbiased. Just look at Marques Johnson and Don McLean when they call for UCLA, and they are vets!

I miss johnson's "Yakkah!".
PS: Oregon state dude Lamar Hurd sux on the mic. At least Collins is upbeat in tone. Hurd is like sitting next to me in the stands eating popcorn.

You know who was excellent, was Monty after his Warriors gig. I know my hoops pretty well but picked up stuff from him. I also find Dan B. to be pleasant. Tolbert's good but don't remember the last time he did a pac12 game. I liked Berkeley High/SC grad Lambert as well.

You left out Raveling, that guy was horrible "They don't came any better than "Bevin" Knight."

Well I knew it was from kimmel, but I should have placed more space between calling Jason Collins a tool and the pic. He's a freaking furd tool either way.

Just wanted to find a silly shot of Collins on the interwebs, and luckily he's a big enough tool to wear that shirt which shows up pretty damn high on the google search. Not trying to say that it's actually really offensive... just a douchey furd wearing a dumb shirt. Though I guess since he's a twin, he might really have problems with gay dudes hitting on him now.
