We play so much better on offense with Moore
Actually the last 5 minutes has been a lot better for Cal. Just too late..had to start playing like this earlier. Rabb getting the ball to Okoroh there was a really nice pass and King drew the foul. Nice play.

yup. He can break people down off the bounce which helps so much in the college game.

yup. That is why I am not unduly concerned (plus I am out of town so know aztec BS to listen to). Ivan's first game. Starting to get into the flow.

If jabari is going to be out randomly all season, it's hard to be optimistic about this season. Its clear that we have mid-major talent after Rabb and Moore

He's the only guard that consistently get penetration.

Outside of Rabb, this team has little high end talent. How's that silly thread touting the greatness of our recruiting classes looking?

Singer, Mullins, and Domingo combined for 71 minutes and just 9 points on 3 for 22. Sure wish we had Bird.
Moute a Bidias and Coleman combined for 35 minutes and 11 points on 2 for 7, and played some defense. Rooks and Okoroh combined for 36 minutes and 7 points on 1 for 3, also added 18 rebounds and 7 blocks. And I'm nothing less than thrilled by Moore as a freshie and Rabb coming off an injury.

He has a back injury...there's no 'sucking it up' when you can't bend over, or barely stand. I've dealt with major back issues..I can tell you...other than preventative measures, there's not much you can do other than possibly cortizone shots, but I don't even know what kind of injury he's dealing with and neither do you.

Fair enough - but the poster's main point is well taken...we can't count on bird to show up. So we inevitably need to plan for the game as if he might be out. I've pretty much given up on Domingo being able to do anything on offense and I'm very close to writing off singer. I mean he's still 50% on free throws...wtf after 3 full years

Significantly improved free throw shooting is something that rarely happens at this level (and above). As someone here said years ago, if you want to improve your team's free throw shooting, recruit better shooters. Expecting him to get better will only leave you frustrated.
Bad shooting night, early in the season, against a very good team on a neutral court... nothing to worry about. Plenty to work on and some good things to build on. Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone. Looking forward to Friday's game against Wyoming.
