What do folks think the players should be working on during the off-season. One thing for each player and the staff as a whole. Please stick to basketball related issues that can be learned and improved during the off-season. Also assume everyone returns and recruits come as planned. There's enough discussion of staff changes and futility for this year. Just trying to brighten things up a bit. Here's my primer:
Juniors:
Paris Austin: Shooting range beyond 12 feet
Roman Davis: On the ball defensive stopper.
Sophs:
Sueing: Three point shot
McNeil: Catch and quick release
JHD: Overall shooting mechanics
Anticevich: Grabbing, catching and holding onto the Ball.
Frosh:
Bradley: Help Defense
Kelly: Defensive footwork
Vanover: Physique
Gordon: Full recovery to retain explosiveness.
Recruits:
Thorpe: Rehab/Recovery.
Smith: Defense.
Brown: Understanding staffs offensive scheme and everyone's roles within it.
Staff: Develop a plan for a fundamentally sound Man defense as the core defensive scheme. Spend significant time in the offseason on fundamentals and pre-season on drilling team concepts to ensure that defense is at competent enough to keep the team in games for 40 minutes.
